So I’m panicking a little bit.
This weekend Darling Husband and I went to NYC for our anniversary. We were doing a lot of walking and had sex. Yesterday as we were leaving to come home I wiped and had some thick mucus with a large spot of dark blood in it.
I called the doctor and she said it was probably just from the walking and sex and told me to take it easy for the next couple of days and if I saw any more blood to give her call.
Well I haven’t had any more spotting at all, however, I am all of sudden feeling some more cramping or pressure in my uterus. When I sit certain ways it’s very uncomfortable. Plus more towards my cervix I’m also getting some light pain on and off. I have an appt on Wednesday but I need someone else to reassure me or guide me a little.
I’m 14 weeks currently. Is this normal? the feeling of pressure at this point in the pregnancy?

IMO, I think that you should call your doctor back and tell them the new symptoms.

I had some spotting and that same thing right about the same time along. And the days prior were almost exactly like yours… spent the weekend at an out of town conference with lots of walking and then being intimate with Darling Husband when I got home.
I freaked too… but just take it easy, refrain from going to the bathroom to re-check for spotting, and of course no sexy time.
I say if you’re still really concerned about it tomorrow then see if you can make it in to see your midwife early. ((hugs))

@runsyellowlites: ok well that makes me feel a little better.
I don’t feel like it’s a miscarriage. It just feels almost like a really bad gas pain in one spot. Or maybe like pain in my ovary? It hasn’t shifted at all, so I was just wondering if maybe because the baby is growing it’s just taking up more space and addind some pressure. My upper tummy muscles are a little sore too. I guess it could be rlp maybe??

@mwitter80: It could definitely be that. I’ve had nights were I was really crampy from gas that was just like THERE. ugh! And then times where the rlp was really painful. I want to say that I spotted one more time about 2 days after the first and then one time out of the blue a couple weeks later. All is still well now at 24 weeks along. =) Still though if you are still worried about it, then just give you midwife a call, I’m sure she’ll be ultra understanding. =)

I’m feeling the exact same pain you’re describing – I’m also 14 weeks along. With my last pregnancy, I also has a small amount of spotting, paired with growing pains right around 3-4 months but it wasn’t harmful. I hope it goes away, try to take it easy!!

I’ve gotten all kinds of weird pains, cramps, and aches in my pelvis since my pregnancy started. However, there’s no harm in calling your doctor for peace of mind.

I haven’t had any spotting, but have definitely felt a variety of cramps, pulls, twinges, pressure, and pinches throughout pregnancy. Perhaps it’s round ligament pain? My rule of thumb is if I can’t stop thinking about it, I call my doctor. I hope it goes away. Take it easy!!

@MissDareDevil: I layed down and drank tons of water. I started to feel a little bit better after that, but I’m still having lots of pressure. I think that it is just round ligament pain as some suggested.
I have an appt at 8:30 tomorrow morning and I am just hoping that the spotting was a fluke and that everything will be ok then. I’ll keep you in the loop.
