@Overjoyed:  Honestly, (and I realize I’m saying this to a bride that is 8 weeks out), I don’t think they need to stand out any more than they already do 🙂

@Overjoyed:  Could you maybe make it a “white” party? Have everyone where white or something? Or could they provide some sort of entertainment? Maybe your onsite coordinator knows a local group that could dance or play music or something?

@Overjoyed:  Oooo yeah… don’t add another vendor then! White party or.. CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN. People love chocolate. 😛 Really, people will view your wedding as a great weekend… you’re the only one thinking about each individual day. It’s all going to be one big party to them anyway and they’ll love it.

We had a PowerPoint slide show of photos of us from childhood through our engagement pics, which was live narrated by our mothers.  Everyone loved it, and it was a fun way to introduce us to the guests who didn’t know one of us well (or at all).  Perhaps you could do something like that to make the rehearsal dinner more than just another meal?

We also laser printed nametags for all our guests with one of our black & white engagement photos plus their name and relationship to us (“Mother of the Bride”, “Cousin of the Groom” etc.).  It was a nice icebreaker as people were meeting one another for the first time.  Good luck!

You know, I’ve been meaning to ask, and I hope this isn’t rude, but…where’s my invitation, anyway!?!!??!?!!?

white party,

wheres the destination-play music that is local- if its carribean- i would play steel drum music, if its hawaii-polynissian music –

name tag is a great ideal for the welcome party

since guest list is small- at rehearsal dinner will you be giving gifts to bridal party and parents? if you are maybe give a small bottle of liquor to each of the other guests

Three parties, woo! That does suck about your original vision but I can’t believe anyone would actually be saying “omigod, did we so attend this same party yesterdaaaaay?”

While the white could be cool, I dunno, it could also be stressful for some people. Eg I might be a freak but I don’t own anything white. Could you maybe theme it slightly with the drinks/cocktails or foood? Like Mexican, Spanish, Italian..

@Overjoyed:  “No plus one for you” Bwahahahahaha reminds me of the “No soup for you” guy from Seinfeld!
