Having trouble waiting to test

Seriously, I don’t even bother holding out. Rationally, I always know it’s far too early. Thank god for cheap tests from Ebay. I don’t feel guilty about using them early. Sometimes, you just need the tangible confirmation of a ‘no,’ even if you know it’s far too early to be testing.

I probably have a couple hundred tests (I was actually buying ovulation tests; there was a mistake in the order, shrugged it off), so testing early is not a problem.

And the waiting gets tough. I usually try to find some project to throw myself into while waiting. Before trying, I never knew how agonizing the waits could feel.

Thanks for your post, though. I needed it today. Some folks make you feel like an idiot for testing too early. You know what? If I want to waste a stick, it’s my business, amirite?

@MrsFireChief:  I was symptom spotting like crazy this time last month & ended up with my BFP 5 days before AF. I had a bunch of cheapie wondolfo’s from amazon & ordered the First Response Early Results off of amazon as well (so much cheaper then at the drug store). I napped every afternoon the week before my BFP & had sore boobs, I can’t tell you how many times I turned to dr.googled and searched “early pregnancy symptoms”. Your body doesn’t start producing HCG until after the egg starts to implant, which happens something like 6-12 days after ovulation. Before I took my test I had to ask myself if I’d be okay with a BFN & I decided that I would plus since it was pretty early before AF was due I knew I wouldn’t be out of the game and could keep on testing. When you do try remember to use your FMU since it’s the most concentrated and GL!

@MrsFireChief:  Your first morning urine (FMU) is the most concentrated which means you have a better chance of getting your positive test result. If you don’t get the FMU try waiting/holding it for 4 hours between pee’s to test as it will give your urine time to be more concentrated.

Seriously, I never knew it would be so bad! When you figure this out, PLEASE let me know…. I am like, ONE day past ovulation and I feel like I gotta wait FOREVER. I’m going to try super hard to wait until my period is due….but I think it might be impossible to wait that long!

@MrsAKSkier:  Waiting to test were the longest days of my life. I only made it to 9DPO before I tested. GL with waiting & for your BFP.

@MrsFireChief:  I am playing it cool to my husband- which actually makes me feel better, too! I keep telling him that I’d be thrilled if it happens this month, but next month would be great, too! It’s our first month trying and he’s super stoked on how much we’re BDing this month, haha! Good luck to you!!!
