- Wedding: June 2015
I’m having a little trouble trying to get my head wrapped around the timeline of the day. The only thing we have set is the cocktail hour starting at 5.00PM and then reception starts at 6.00PM (same location).
This is kind of what I was thinking and looking for some guidance.
7.00AM to 1.30PM – Makeup/hair/lunch at home, etc. There’s me, four bridesmaids and my mother. Six hours for five of us I think should be alright?
1.30PM to 2.30PM – Everybody starts getting dressed except me. My dad arrives at our house.
2.30PM to 3.00PM – I get dressed. Photos of bridesmaids and mum helping me. Photos of me and my dad.
3.00PM to 3.30PM – Travel to ceremony. Approximately 20 – 25 minutes away.
3.30PM to 4.00PM – Ceremony. Hooray!
4.00PM to 4.30PM – Say hello to guests. Mingle!
4.30PM to 5.00PM – Family photos. Onsite at ceremony.
5.00PM to 6.30PM – Bridal party photos. We arrive back at reception at 6.30PM. Our photos are only about 10mins drive away from our cermony site and we figure we can get back by 6.30PM, at the latest 7.00PM for when dinner starts. 🙂
6.30PM to 7.00PM – Arrival of bridal party. Mingle, get ourselves sorted for dinner.
7.00PM to 8.30PM – Dinner. Three course meal.
8.30PM to 9.00PM – Speeches.
9.00PM to 9.10PM – First dance.
9.10PM to 12.00AM – PARTY!!!
Does this seem realistic? Is there something I’ve forgotten?
We aren’t doing a wedding cake so there’s no cutting of the cake, and we have also taken out the bouquet toss and garter toss. So I think that’s everything??
Obviously there’s a bit of wiggle room – I don’t expect speeches to last a half hour and we aren’t going to dance for 10 minutes but that’s about it. 🙂
