So bizarre.  We had an awesome wedding and nothing went wrong...seriously!  Everything went smoothly and I have nothing but glowing things to say about our day.

But the past week or so I have had like 3 wedding nightmares!  Last night, it was that my hair fell completely out after the ceremony and our photographer was annoyed b/c of it.  Also, that our venue ran out of ice and there was a problem with the toilets/sewage.

Why the heck am I having these dreams!?!?

Wow! Does your body think you didn't stress out enough before hand? Maybe you're still working through 'wedding issues' at night while you're sleeping?

I have no idea, it's so bizarre!  I don't have any regrets about the wedding, at all!  I have been stressed at work, but that's nothing new.  I thought my body was punished enough with wedding dreams pre-wedding!

same thing happened to me...! it's been over two months now since our wedding day (and like yours, everything was beyond perfect!). but a couple weeks ago i had a dream that the ceremony was about to start and i was totally unprepared. my hair wasn't done, no make-up, i didn't know where my dress was...and i was freaking out b/c i knew everyone was waiting but i didn't want to go out there in my unprepared state. i woke up in a panic!

we were going to a friend's wedding the next day, so maybe i was projecting?! don't know.....bizarre.

I think that's normal. I think with any stressful situation, you'll have nightmares afterwards. I know this is WAY silly, but I was in a top-rated state championship band in high school and years later...I STILL have nightmares that I have to go out there and remember every step and note. I think it's normal, and the weird dreams will probably subside over time. :)

I am glad to hear that your wedding was fabulous!!!!

Me too!  I had wedding nightmares and panic attacks for a full week after our wedding.  And everything went perfect too!  I guess it's just stress finally catching up with you.  Perhaps that's why its good to take a honeymoon right away!!

I had a wedding nightmare recently too!  (two months AFTER the wedding)  I was SO stressed in the dream but I can't remember the details.  I woke up and was SO glad to be done with planning!

I have them too! Recently I started having them about other people's weddings, which I think is a step forward...

What I think is going on is that my stress has always come out in dreams, but the actual content of the dreams used to be random mash-up of whatever had been in my thoughts. The thing about weddings is that they're kind of a perfect fodder for stress dreams - high-stakes, one-chance, lots of people to impress, have to be perfect, in the spotlight - and so I think my wedding nightmares aren't actually *about* the wedding anymore. They're about generalized stress, they just happen to take place at the wedding.

I can never remember them afterward, but there was one where it was pouring rain and my dress was covered in mud.

    I had several too.

I woke up laughing about them because it was so after the fact!

I'm on to dreaming about other things now, but I think in the first month I was still processing everything :)

oh man, i dreamt after the ceremony we couldn't find each other (groom and me).  wherever i went there were people congratulating me, distracting me, but not him.  i used all my mental force to make it back to the bride's suite, where he was waiting for me, knowing that that's where i'd be looking for him and he was looking everywhere for me too!  then we ate eggrolls.  all in all, very gratifying.

I did the same thing for almost a week after the wedding! And our day was PERFECT-- not a single thing went wrong. So I dunno, but at least when I wake up I can breathe a sigh of relief that my dreams were not the reality :)

I am so glad that I found this thread! I thought that I was the only one to have wedding nightmares after my near perfect wedding!

In my dream, I went to get my hair cut and they chopped it all off! All of my bridesmaids were late. My hubby was being an ass. I was going to make my dad walk into the church and call the whole thing off! It was soooo scary. Those hair dreams are rough.

In my dream, it wasn't the wonderful wedding that we had, it was the wedding that my mom wanted me to have. Oh god! It was in a different city, different church, I didn't even want to be there.

That didn't happen, I haven't had the nightmare since though. Thanks for letting me know that I'm not alone!
