@MrsReal:  I think Allure makes a nearly identical mermaid dress, then just have a seamstress add the straps! Boom! 5-8K dress for 1k!

I would rather buy a preowned dress that would potentially have resale value than have it made.

I considered having mine made because I was so specific on what I wanted and found one that was way over my budget. Then I remembered a friend of mine had her dress made and the Tuesday before her wedding, the dress maker was not finished. I would have had such anxiety about it.

I think you should keep looking. You might find one you love!

@MrsReal:  Nope, it still takes me to this thread. I tried copy pasting it instead and it takes me to a page with 9 dresses on it, can’t tell which one you are talking about. You should be able to insert the picture of the dress into the thread by copying it’s URL and pasting that into the photo uploader.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen another bee have that dress made by Jasmine’s Bridal. I can’t remember her user name though.

I had mine made by a company in Dallas, Binzario Couture. A friend of mine introduced me to them and she lives in CA. I was a little nervous at first, but they made me feel really confortable by sending photos of their progress and just keeping me in the loop. They even encouraged me to come in to see the dress being made, which was so special. They have great reviews and the cost was about $3500 with fitting and alterations. If you buy from the bridal shop they charge you extra for alterations. http://www.binzario.com is the website. It was worth it at the end because I got something that was made just for me.
