My husband and I just got back from our Hawaiian Honeymoon!! I would rent a car if I were you because you’re going to need it to get to most places if you’re planning to do things like Pearl Harbor or explore the island outside of Waikiki. Let me know if you want any recommendations on things to do and places to eat! Have the BEST time

Just noticed you did ask for things to do, ha 🙂 I would definitely go see Pearl Harbor, if you’re looking for a fun place to have drinks on the water I would recommend Rum Fire in the Sheraton Hotel (Waikiki), walking the strip in Waikiki is always fun especially at night, Duke’s Waikiki has a great lunch.. North Shore beach is a definite must and not too crowded and the drive there is gorgeous, if you and your FI are into hiking there are some great hikes on the island.. for a tougher hike, try Koko Head Trail – the views are incredible and you see the whole island but the hike up is really tough.. it’s about a mile up straight steps. For a less demanding hike but still worthwhile, try Diamond Head Crater Trail.. also has great views of Waikiki. If I can think of more off the top of my head I’ll post again

rrweddingday15:  You can pay a little extra fee to get flower leis (get leid, lol) once you exit the plane and enter the airport in Hawaii. It’s extra $ but a fun experience. 🙂 I second renting your own car so you can drive around and explore.

We got engaged on Diamond Head almost 2 months ago! It was our second time on Oahu and I would recommend renting a car. The first time we went we were only 18 so we obviously couldnt do that and we only stayed in Waikiki. We also did a Pearl harbor/city tour and then hiking diamond head and snorkeling in hanauma bay. This time we skipped Pearl Harbor because I think once you’ve seen it, you’ve seen it. We did a hike everyday. Our first hike was Koko head, and holy shit….do NOT do this in the middle of the day. Then we went snorkeling in hanauma bay right after. We also did the pillboxes hike in Kailua. Also, eat breakfast at the mokes in Kailua! We went shark cage diving at north shore and then did a helicopter tour. We also hiked to manoa falls. The kona brewing co restaurant is really good as well if you like pizza and beer. Also, monkey pod over by the Disney resort. We also hiked to the makapu’u lighthouse and it had gorgeous views of the crouching lion. I know I’m repeating myself, but RENT A CAR!! I mean we had to pay hundreds extra for this since were only 22, but it was worth every single penny. We feel like we got robbed on our first trip since we just stayed in Waikiki. If you want to see pics or have any more questions, let me know!
