He left the receipt for a ring open on his computer! I went to check the weather (I use his computer frequently) and when it came out of sleep mode, there was the receipt. I closed it immediately; I know it’s very important to him to surprise me so I am not going to say anything, and didn’t look at any of the details (delivery date, cost, ring description).
I must say, however, knowing that he’s purchased a ring is a HUGE weight off my chest. I found this out about a week ago and the crazy anxiety/doubtfulness/wondering how long to wait has finally gone away. I think I’ve finally crossed the bridge from waiting for him to be ready to actually waiting for him to propose. Time to relax and let him do his thing.

Congrats! Can’t wait to see your ring when you get it! I hope your wait isnt long.

@NotablySidedJP: That’s going to last for a couple of days, then you’ll get antsy again. Welcome to the zen cycle of waiting. 🙂
Seriously, congratulations. It’s a big step.

@aithinne: Haha, you’re probably right. I probably will be anxious waiting for a proposal. But I do think that knowing that he has the intention to propose just makes me feel better. I would frequently get in my own head about why he is waiting so long. I will take anxiety of waiting for him to propose with a ring I know he has any day over anxiety of how long I should stay with him if he’s stringing me along.

Haha, I thought I was at the “relax and let him do his thing” stage several times before… Nope, then I got antsy again! But regardless, this is a huge step, congratulations! Even if the calm does go away after a few days, you now *know* it is coming, it’s just a matter of when. And good job not looking at details! I like surprises too, but man, I don’t know if I would have been as strong…
