I know exactly how you are feeling I lost my job 2 weeks ago! I freaked out as well we bought our condo last June to make ends met we got roomates and everything is working out a little bit better than planned! Hopefully everything will be fine and he will not lose his job but if he does always know you can count on all of us to lend you any support you need
((HUGS)) M was laid off about a week before Christmas and is waiting to be reassigned so trust me I know. Usually if he loses a job, his child support may be able to be suspended, it's definitely something to speak with his attorney about though.
Good luck!
Awww, big hugs. Thats horrible! I'll pray for you guys. I'm sure everything will work out. <3
Thanks I suppose we could let someone move into our basement for the cost of our mortgage...its a huge basement, guess we will have to make a sacrifice
@3m it helps out a lot! Instead of paying 1500 for our mortage we pay only 700 so its very helpful! Just stay positive and everthing will turn out fine!
I'm so sorry this is happening to you!
As a child support recipient I can only echo what crebre said - if he does lose his job please file paperwork as soon as you can so it can get adjusted.
thanks for the child support tips ladies, he pays more out than we bring in almost (hardly exaggerating) i didnt think we could do that but it makes me feel better! I wish he would just hurry up and call me and at least let me know how the mood is around there....you can always tell....
@3M....I am also a recipient of child support and I know that the amount can be adjusted if it doesn't leave the noncustodial parent a "living wage". If you guys literally can't pay your bills due to child support payments...document that...and ask for an adjustment. Even if your FI keeps his job, it's still probably a good idea to have that done. I know here in NC, they do reviews automatically every 3 years to determine if any changes need to be made but either party can request a review earlier if circumstances have changed.
Something else you can check into. Talk to your mortgage company and see if you can apply for a loan remodification. We did, and it is saving us $600 a month.
Yeah I am going to see if the child support can be revisited, sadly his ex does not work and her income is soley his support. grrrrrr...
I appreciate you bees listening, i will keep you posted. He said everyone was being kinda quiet today. I wish they would just tell him and get it over with, geesh!
@noritake- we have our house via land contract with my aunt, but dont let that fool you into thinking she would budge, she charges late fees..... our mortgage is only 600/mo but that s alot when were broke!!!
Hive,
He lost it today. When he left this AM he joked about how he might see me within 20 mins....
He was right :(
I am so sorry, that is absolutely the worst feeling in the world. :(
thanks bees, i am quietly freaking out. He is actually relieved cause that job made him miserable and we believe everything happens for a reason.
Wowwwwww
I am so sorry about him losing his job! I'm right there with you though, everything happens for a reason. This will probably work out for the best for yall!
Oh goodness. That's so hard, I'm so sorry for you 3M!
Good luck to you and him and lots of hugs!!!
oh 3M :( :( :( I am so sorry to hear!!!
Let us know if we can help in any way. Are you still out of work as well, or have you found something since you were laid off?
We are both out of work now, I am going back to school May 2nd.
For those of you who didnt read the beginning of this thread, he actually got fired for the superbowl squares. I mean, i know its gambling but really? Every office does squares. grrrr
Thanks for the support.
@3m So sorry you guys are going through this....We are in the same boat sort of...my FI was let go from his job on Monday..I am starting to freak out too...on the plus side I still have my job, but it's definately going to mean we need to get rid of extra expenses..
I still can't believe he got fired out football squares...he can't exactly do that alone, so a bunch of people better have gotten fired.

So my fiance has been having all these issues at work and yesterday he had to write a statement about an altercation he had with a co-worker of his.....as far as we know its being "investigated" (it was a he said he said thing regarding superbowl squares...i know)
He is sick about it and couldnt sleep last night so he went in today and i havent heard anything yet but he is afraid he is going to lost his job. I noticed he sent an email to his home acct from work (communication between his ex about the kids) and it made me nervous.....
He will know today or tomorrow what the result will be, sadly even if its just a write up he will be terminated cause he is in management :(
We bought a house last Oct the same week i lost my job and i wouldnt be so concerned if he did not have to pay a TON of money in child support every month.
Sorry i just needed to freak out to the hive
