FI (<–first time to type that! I’ve been on the Waiting Boards) proposed yesterday! It was beautiful, romantic, and brought me to tears. We were both on cloud nine calling everyone yesterday, receiving congratulations, and in my case, letting the hive know 🙂
And now he’s gone back to his city…and I’m in my apartment alone, facing a To Do list for the week (yay work and grad school – I know many, many other bees are in the same boat). I feel like I’m coming down from an “engagement high.”
I’m so excited to plan the wedding and to spend the rest of my life with this man, but being engaged and then separated yet again within a 24 hour span is just hard…how have you bees dealt with it? Any suggestions? I know hopefully tomorrow will be better b/c I have work and class, but right now I’m just sad that I have reading and studying in front of me instead of celebrating with my new FI.

Congratulations, wear your smile to work and class tomorrow 🙂

Congratulations on your engagement! We had the same basic thing happen – we got engaged and then 2 days later each went to our respective home towns to see our families for Christmas (we are also in a long-distance relationship). I spent a lot of time looking at magazines and just kind of imagining… plus there were things to do, so that helped! Call up some friends and celebrate with them – they should be happy for you! And of course you can always talk to your fiance; he’s probably excited too!

Congratulations!! And I totally feel you. My FI proposed and then went back to Iraq 2 days later. Wedding planning kept me busy while he was gone but I won’t lie it was difficult without him. I did my best to keep him involved by sending him lots of inspiration boards and research I did and then he would help me narrow down the options.

Congrats on your engagement! The best piece of advice I have is to make sure that you have a plan to get out of long distance. Use the wedding planning as a distraction until he lives near you again!

Thank you ladies – wedding planning sounds like an awesome distraction!

I get lost in the sparkle every time I miss him the most!
And phone calls. Lots and lots of phone calls.

Best wishes to you! This is a moment you can’t get back. Don’t let the distance steal your joy. Live and love this moment…

Congrats on your engagement!!! When will you end your long distance? Just keep your focus on that and the wedding 🙂

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!!!! Yes, I can imagine that is pretty hard – a whirlwind of emotions! I think it will all work itself out, though! When will you get to be together again…for good?

Congrats!! I know that must be hard, but soon enough I think you’ll be back to your normal routine. When are you going to end the distance?
