hi hive! this past saturday, my now fiance proposed to me on the rideau canal. this is the ring, and i haven't been able to stop staring at it! i iz happy :)

The story:

We planned a roadtrip to visit friends and family in kingston and ottawa (canada) this past weekend, and i thought this roadtrip was all my idea. little did i know, that three months ago, FI told my sister that he wanted us to take a roadtrip to ottawa so that he could propose. apparently, he kept dropping hints about wanting to visit his brother, and i took the bait!

but of course, nothing goes smoothly. he actually forgot the ring!!!when he messaged his friend frantically saying that he forgot it, his friend offered to bring it to him, but FI declined saying it was too far. his friend then offered to drive it halfway, and FI accepted. so in the middle of the night, he drove out and picked it up from his friend. this was while i was hanging out with my sister; he had told me he was catching up with an old friend. 

We went ice skating on the rideau canal on saturday, and that's where he proposed! it's actually more embarrassing than i thought it would be to have a (very) public proposal.

when i realized what he was doing, i ran away. well, skated. to the side of the canal under the bridge. out of plain view of most of the other skaters. he was all "where are you going?!" when he caught up to me. 

i was shell-shocked, i was not expecting a proposal that day at all. he tried to get down on one knee, but because he had skates on, this wasn't really possible. he got down on two knees, haha. that's when he proposed, and said something like how he'd known for a very long time that he was going to marry me. tears ensued (FI claims he just had something in his eye)

So pretty!! I have a Tacori too!! I <3 it!!!
