Went dress shopping yesterday... well, more like dress trying on but anyway. I had always figured that I would get married in a colour since it's my second wedding and didn't really have a desire to do the whole traditional bride thing. Well, I tried on a dress that I have always loved but wasn't really considering getting and he fell in love with the damn thing. Said that he has always kind of pictured his bride in red and white and in this style of dress so how could I say no?

My venue, if I use it, will totally clash with reds. Its a small area with distinct colours so I almost have to go with the colours that work with the venue. (you can see the venue HERE on my blog). Granted the red is a dark, ruby colour so it *might* work but I don't know. Additionally, two of my girls will look stunning in a matching garnet colour but my youngest daughter cannot wear that colour of red or whites so what do I put her in?!

Any suggestions of colours that might go with the red and still do alright with the venue?

The photos in your blog include color swatches - I think any of the colors included there would work very well with the room.

I actually think red would go really well with that venue... I'm not sure what month you are getting married in but if it's winter you could go for a christmassy warm red feel.

I would def keep it to a warm red, ruby/burgundy like you mentioned instead of a bright orangy red though. good luck!

What about the deep red and a brown or tan color ?  Does the dress come in ivory?  If so you could def use a cream with the red...

Before you buy the dress - I would shop around a little more - you may be able to find something very similar in the color you imagined.

After seeing your dress I had to see your blog. WOW you have great ideas. Also your story of how you met him is so touching!! I love it. My question now is do you have a picture of your ring?
