Here is my last post. Cliff notes: he went to the jeweler last Tuesday *I think* to buy the ring.
We were having a fun rousing debate (we are huge debaters) about future finances last night and I’m sure I said something snarky along the lines of ‘i wasn’t aware that a wife would put you in such a compromised financial state (joking of course)” and he shot back with “well I was at the jewelers again today so obviously I’m not too worried about it”.
I instantly had three thoughts:
2. He is the WORST as far as keeping surprises. I want to be surprised!! But I also don’t. I am losing my mind.
3. What was he doing back at the jewlers yesterday!!!!??? Didn’t he buy the ring last week?
Again, I am in awe of all of you that have been waiting for days, months, and years.

OK IM IN THE EXACT SAME BOAT! lol it is exciting yet torture at the same time right?!
My SO went to 5-6 jewelry stores before he found one he liked. And has been back to that place 3x since- (1st to pick out the ring and diamond, 2nd with my mom to get her approval, 3rd to place the deposit and have the ring sized)…
so your SO could be double triple checking the ring, making a payment, getting it sized, maybe the jeweler had to order your setting from the designer?… its a good thing he has been back. It means he is really doing the work that is necessary when making such a big purchase.
I want to know, and for it to be a surprise. So I know the week that it will happen (he made a huge slip then decided to give me just a little bit of details to satisfy me yet keep it a surprise). He stinks at surprises… so I am sure Ill know the day as it get closer
YAY FOR YOU! So happy! Enjoy the excited torture. It builds anticipation- there are very few good surprises in life!

@Penelopeee: Maybe he’s having something extra done like engraving, or maybe he picked it up? But it’s happening that’s what’s important!

He could be paying it off after a cooling off period…or getting a loose stone set or picking it up after it’s ready. It took 3 days where I went to get it set, sized, and ready to pick up.
I know it sounds impossible but focus on something else. I’ve been reading…a lot.

@Penelopeee: Maybe he decided against the one you picked out together, or maybe he has it on a layaway payment plan and had to make a payment.

Whatever the reason, at least you know the ring is on its way. Try not to think about it too much and go get a manicure. 😉

@Sapphire-Dreamer: pain in the behind. But using the word that starts with A instead of behind.

Thank you for talking me down.
I feel better and saner now. I think I’m going to head to a yoga class tonight to get rid of my spastic energy.

He just got home and told me he went to the jeweler again TODAY (seriously WTF is he doing there) and also told me that we are booking a long trip to Colorado wine country (yes, there is such a thing) the last weekend of October. To eat, and ride bikes, and drink tons of wine, and maybe celebrate??????
Our anniversary is 11/4. EEEEEH! I feel like a 14 year old. Must NOT buy more bridal magazines.
Could this be it!? I need to get some new nailpolish. And wax my crotch.

@Penelopeee: Um, YES this is it.
For real real, not for play play.
Wax that crotch girl.

I know exactly what you mean! My FH is terrible at keeping surprises too.
I have decided it’s adorable, because, it’s the way it is and it isn’t going to change… plus, hey, at least there’s no chance our men would be able to keep a double-life from us huh, we know we’re getting the real deal.
Looking into my crystal ball I also recommend some new nice undies for you, too!
