My wonderful fiance thinks that he should wear a tux while the men wear 3 piece suits.  Here's one of the many problems-the suits are dark grey.  I love the look of the suit on all of them and think that the pictures would look very out of balance with a black tux, grey suits, my ivory dress, and the girls navy dresses!  It seems like a lot going on.  We are getting married in the evening at a winery in Sonoma, CA.  Everything is going to be very elegant and simple.  I think tuxes are cumbersome and overdone-not to mention black against the navy dresses for the girls.

Anyone have any tips (better yet photos) to hep me change his mind?  Thanks bees!!!

Despite my searching I haven't been able to find a picture of this. I'm guessing there's a reason for that....anyhoo, the only thing I could think of would be to create a mock up either digitally or using magazine clippings and see what he thinks then.

As far as I know, dark grey, navy and black are all colors that would work together, and ivory goes with everything really. Does he want the suits/tux because he wants to stand out from the GM like you stood out from the BM?? Consider that for his sake then. Honestly, I picture that in my mind and I think that it would work. Who knows? Maybe you guys can start a new trend for future wedding planners.....

This is an excellent question!  Does he just want his groomsmen to be comfortable?

And this brings up a good point, if the groom is wearing a tux, who else should be wearing a tux?
