That's so exciting! Sounds like a really busy school. And yes you will be busy, my husband and I will be in school and working full time and it's a horror!
Congrats to your husband! As someone currently in grad school, I can say yes! It WILL be worth it!
@MissAB, I should have clarified, but it's the entire school system (CUNY), not just his particular school, that is overflowing in applications. I wonder how many people they accept to his program though. But I am definitely proud of him! It was the only school he applied to.
@MrsDG- I was hoping you were at the hospital :p
@Gemstone- I hope so! As long as he can get a job with it. A BA in Psych (what he has) is worthless basically. While I admire the job he currently does, it's basically dead end and not something that can sustain a family lol
Yay! Congrats to your husband (and you)! It'll be tough but it'll be a good thing. Everybody I know who has a BA or BS in Psych pretty much has to go to grad school. Oh wait, one of them works at Bath and Body Works. Yup, grad school is smart for him :)
@ejs haha yup! He's working at an animal shelter right now. He's been there since before he graduated college. It's a noble job, but severely underpaid and under appreciated!
He got his OFFICIAL acceptance package in the mail on Friday evening and he has sent his notice of acceptance as well, so this is the real deal now! Now I just hope the next 2ish years go by quickly! I think they will though. Plus, it's not like school is two straight years since there are breaks and stuff.
Thanks everyone!
That is wonderful news! I'm sure the next two years will fly by- my M.S. coursework did!
I'm a little late seeing this, but congrats, that is so exciting for the both of you!

I am so so so so so so so excited and relieved. My husband was informally accepted into grad school!!!! I say informally because the deputy chair of the department sent him an email saying they accepted him, but it is now up to the admissions office to send the formal acceptance letter. We were waiting and waiting and waiting and finally we know!! I was so worried he wouldn't get in with the influx of applications because of the economy. I recently saw an update that even the regular undergrad admissions have gone way up and there is now a wait list for fall 2010.
But yeah, this will mean great things for our future (hopefully lol). He's going into Organizational Psychology (basically human resources). Of course that also means our near future is going to suck major, between both of us working and going to school, I anticipate that we will hardly see each other some days, but it will be worth it in the long run.
