I know I’m not getting a ring tonight for our 1 year anniversary. But I did see one of those receipt folders from Tiffany and Co. as I was leaving his house this morning.
I’m going to say I’m SO EXCITED becuase I’ve never gotten anything from Tiffany before (he told me it was going to be a necklace, but didn’t tell me where he was getting it) and it helps me deal with the kind of let-down of knowing he’s not proposing tonight.
Also, I’m looking on the bright side. I consider any time a guy goes into a jewelry store, especially by himself, to be VERY POSITIVE. This is a guy who’s literally run the other direction from a jewelry store (that was months ago, to be fair). I think it gets them used to being around sparkly things 🙂

Happy Anniversary! Everything at Tiffany’s is super high quality! You’re a lucky girl!

That’s exciting, even if it’s not a ring! Even though I try to rationalize that it’s just a brand, I love Tiffany’s. Happy Anniversary!

There is something about Tiffany, even though I know it’s just a brand too….I was just so excited he went to TIffany. I hope he got some ideas there, LOL! There was definitely a few hours when he wasn’t answering his phone yesterday while shopping. If he didn’t look at rings, at least he spent a few hours building up his tolerance to them 🙂

Nothing like that little robin’s egg shell blue box and crisp white ribbon. Gives me butterflies just thinking about it! Happy Anniversary! 🙂

Happy anniversary! No need to rush a proposal as long as you’re both happy. 🙂
P.S. The second half of you post title made me chuckle.

Oooh, whatever it is…he bought it out of love (and it’s from Tiffany, super sweet)!! Happy anniversary!!

That is wonderful! Who knows, he may be trying to throw you off and it could be a ring. Either way you will be getting a fab gift tonight!

awww how sweet! I didn’t think I was a huge fan of Tiffanys until I got the loveliest bracelet from some friends. The little blue box now sits on my dresser and I smile everytime I see it!

Oh Tiffany’s. I love that place. On our two-year anniversary, I took him to NYC and he took me to Tiffany’s. That was a good one. What’cha get?

I got a beautiful pearl and diamond necklace…
And dinner was lovely! He loved the presents I got him too.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say I felt a bit bittersweet/disappointed. Even though I’d love to be the person who can totally handle the “expectattion downer”, I’m only human 🙂
It was funny, my GF was over when he came up to pick me up…I was not expecting he’d give me the blue box at that point but I wanted to open it in private anyway. So I waited till we got back down to the car. I guess it was burning a hole in his pocket!
I still definitely had butterflies when I saw that blue box with the white ribbon!
I said it was very kind of him to warn me ahead of time that it wasn’t a ring, because anniversary+little blue box could have potentially made my heart stop. But I told him I was still nervous to open it in front of her. He said “did you think maybe it was actually a ring?” And the last time he’d suprised me he had, in fact, previously convinced me the thing wasn’t happening (trip to Mexico), so I said “Of course! It crossed my mind, maybe you were throwing me off your trail. Like last time!”.
Then I was flirty and said “you did get me a Tiffany diamond…” 😉 He laughed and said it was probably the smallest one in the store. Then the convo went along the lines of Tiffany rings are a bit overpriced. And he talked about how engagement rings didn’t used to traditionally be diamonds until the whole DeBeers ad campaign.

Pretty!! At least you got in some good dialogue about engagement rings! It sounds like he knows you’re waiting patiently, and the idea of the ring conversation might get him to plan that as his next sparkly purchase. 🙂 Happy Anniversary!

My my, it looks like someone has been doing his homework!
Pretty necklace, I’m glad you had a nice anniversary.
