Headcount and Outside Vendors

@JMR20083:  Any questions like that should be directed to your contact at the venue. They should be able to answer any and all questions regarding numbers, charges, etc. 

If you do count band, photographers, etc you’ll end up paying more in the end. If they require meals, your venue should be able to provide a less expensive meal for them. My venue charged $40/head for guests (buffet) and $20 for vendor meals. Vendor meals were a deli platter (meat, cheese, bread, chips, cookie, etc.) Don’t feel bad that your vendors aren’t getting the same meal as your guests. Vendors are used to it and they’re not guests at your wedding, they don’t need the fancy stuff.

@JMR20083:  Totally understandable. I’m really surprised they’re making you commit to a number more than a year before your wedding. My caterer (who also was the coordinator for the venue) didn’t require a firm headcount until 72 hours before the day. I think if you just talk to the venue they’ll be able to clear up the confusion and put your mind at ease. 🙂
