Getting a couple movies is a great idea! My nieces become entranced by movies when they are on and they are 3 and 7.
I'm thinking about bringing a board game like candyland that is easy and everyone knows how to play. I also want to get separate sets of crayons and a few different coloring books so no one will argue over who gets which color crayon or marker.
Maybe some of those favors that you buy for kid's birthday parties? I know they come in four-packs and stuff, and kids love them. Gosh, for the life of me, I can't remember the options, but if you go down the kid's party aisle, near gift wrap, there are a ton of options!
I know one of the more popular items in my kids bags were the mini magna-doodle things, which I got at Target. The mini lego sets were a big hit as well.
Make sure you go down their dollar aisle they have a lot of one dollar items for children. I get my son stickers and colors from there too.
I agree with Mrs. M...make sure to hit the $1 section! I always find the best goodies for my students in there. Also, the Dollar Tree is perfect for puzzles, coloring books, etc! :)
I also am a fan of the crayons and coloring books - when i went to Target, there was that huge 64 pack of Crayolas on sale, and they were a hit with my cousin's daughter! Another suggestion might be disposal cameras for the older kids - it might be interesting to see how they capture your wedding from a younger eye :)
Bubbles? My friends' toddlers are entranced by them. It's like kryptonite for warding off temper tantrums.
Thanks for the ideas, everyone! It's so funny, I deal with little kids for work all day long but have no idea what they want to do in a non-school context. :)
I got some crayons/coloring books, a Candyland game, an Etch Sketch that was on sale, and a cheap DVD. I meant to pick up some disposable cameras; if I run by Target again I'll grab some.
I totally got distracted by all the toys at Target... I haven't been in a toy section in forever! They have so many interesting things for kids to play with now!
One thing that was a hit at our reception was glow sticks that bend into bracelets. Got these at Michaels for a buck a tube filled with sticks.
Just remember nothing messy since they will be in "party" cloths.
Glow sticks (also from Michaels and some from Dollar Tree!) were a HUGE hit at our kids' table as well!!

Hey everyone! What should I get for the kids' table? I'm going to Target later today.
I was thinking to get some coloring books & crayons, maybe a DVD or something...
Our kids room will have a DVD player and a table for drawing/coloring/etc. We'll have anywhere from 2 to 6 kids in there, ages 2 to 8.
