Hi Gerbera,
This is one of my favorite cakes to make....
- One package of Pillsbury Reduced Sugar Devils Food Cake Mix
- One box of sugar free Jello Instant pudding mix
- 1/2 a package of chocolate chips - Semi sweet.
Throw those ingredients in a bowl plus the ingredients that are needed for the cake mix. I swap things out: Eggs = egg beaters, oil = apple sauce. Then bake as it says on the box.
The family recipe that has full fat and sugar doesn't call for frosting but I LOVE frosting so I put a can of the Pillsbury reduced sugar vanilla frosting on it. You do not get the nutrasweet taste with this cake because the chocolate chips balance things out.
I don't know how healthy this truly is but it has to be better than what could be done!

Hi Ladies,
Future FIL's birthday is tomorrow and I'm baking a cake. He loves chocolate. Loves.
I'm trying to find a light recipe (light as in moist and density of the cake and health wise) for chocolate cake?
I'm using Google like any good researcher. :D
Wondering if any of you have a good one to share?
Thanks!
