I've become totally enamoured with tuna salad (basically just canned tuna with loads of vegetables and natural yoghurt as a dressing) on Cruskits and the bonus is its REALLY healthy!

just wondering if you ladies have any "good foods" that are actually delicious?

My favorite snack in the whole world is cucumbers in lemon juice.... now I don't know how "healthy" it is but I know it can't be that bad for you. lol

Cut up cucumbers and tomatoes with reduced fat feta cheese and balsamic vinegar.  Although, I hate the time it takes to cut up the cucumbers and tomatoes. :)

I LOVE avocadoes, I could seriously eat a whole one as a snack.  I actually really like veggies, so I'll eat a big salad with homemade ceaser dressing (still looking for a good one that's good for you!) and I love steaming veggies in the microwave with a little bit of seasoning, and a drizzle of olive oil :)

Oh, and greek yougrt is a newfound love for me! hubs doesn't like it, but I really do . The plain isn't good, but I like the fruit ones and will sometimes add in honey or agave

I make my own guacamole (sp?) and spread it on whole grain toast.

Squash the avocado (sp? LOL) with a fork

Add salt, pepper and hot sauce (a lot or a little depending on your prefernce) and mush real well. For a bit of  an unhealthy touch, I spread my toast with Becel Olive Oil margarine (not too bad, actually!). Or pita bread...oh, mmm, just thought of pita bread.

Note: You'll find the word "mush" in many a cookbook, lol!

I always have SO much trouble finding healthy snacks because I have Oral Allergy Syndrome which means I'm allergic to lots of fruits and veggies :( Insterested to see what people post!

I'll try to much on a salad with vinagarette or, my weird favorite, Claussen pickles.

@winklkr: this sounds so yummy, I would love it with some fresh mozzarella! I really need to get into balsamic more...

I also am digging tomato sandwiches, although the mayo isn't the best for you.

It's super healthy. It's a natural diuretic and is mostly water!

We posted at the same time with the avocado idea!

I eat them with pretty much everything.

I love pretty much all veggies--rseriously, I can't actually think of a veggie that I don't like. Okay, maybe okra. And I love eating them just raw or steamed/blanched. I love lettuce, and I love fruit. I would way rather have a snack of carrots and hummus than potato chips--weird, I know!

@June Bug: I have that as well! Eggplant, raw tomatos, and raw walnuts make my mouth itch like crazy. But I still eat all that stuff :)

@hilsy85: thank you for saying you hate okra. i live in the south and okra is KING here. it's so disgusting, as are collards. ew!

i am definitely a healty eater. i haven't even touched fast food, not even a single french fry in 8 years! i make my own granola, which is super yummy. when i'm feeling a little crazy, i love some cashew butter on celery :)

My newest obsession is salad with Makato Honey Ginger Dressing! The dressing only has like 80 calories and lettuce has like 15, so it's an under 100 calorie snack. I also LOVE raw veggies, but then I want to dip them in ranch and they become less healthy :( For breakfast I've been eating nonfat yougurt with fresh berries dipped in it!

    @hilsy85 A fellow sufferer!

I wish I could push through mine, but it's just awful. For me it's: apples, carrots, avacado, cucumber...and those are the main ones I miss :) Around the time I got it I also suddenly became allergic to tuna and white fish. Sad dayyy.

@MrsSl82be Mmmm bread and butter pickles!

Oatmeal. Especially chocolate oatmeal. Just put in a little sugar, some cocoa powder, and cinnamon, and it's almost like eating something naughty!

@hilsy85: I am definitely the same way! I love raw veggies - often for work, I will take just sliced veggies to eat for lunch - cucumbers, red/yellow bell peppers, green peppers, carrots, etc.  LOVE veggies :-)

Except I love okra.  But only fried....because then it no longer tastes like okra!

I love fresh fruit!  Right now I am eating a fruit salad I just threw together: cherries, a nectarine, an apricot, blueberries, strawberries, and a little bit of fresh basil.  I'm going to try it with fresh mint next time.  If you want it to last beyond a day, add some lemon juice.  I only made enough for me to eat tonight :-)

The other day on a whim I made a salad of seeded cucumber, red and yellow peppers, all diced very small, and dressed with a drizzle of olive oil and some herbs. It is hands down the most refreshing salad I have ever made and I plan to make it again a lot this summer!

ISN'T IT HORRIBLE?!!! oral immunal allergy syndrome is the bane of my exsistence! growing up my mother would always yell at me for taking a bite out of a baby carrot or piece of melon and then whining because my throat was itchy, she thought i was just making excuses because i didn't want to eat them...

i've found that if you keep a nice adult beverage handy while eating those pesky pollenated snacks you fare much better! seriously, you'll find me eating avocado while drinking a nice corona this evening...

Dark green vegetables.  I love eating them, and they make me feel so good! Even as a little kid, I loved veggies like broccoli, bok choy, and spinach. Now I like those, plus I've discovered chard, kale, collards, broccoli rabe, etc.

To be honest, I enjoy eating a lot of healthy foods. Chickpeas, lentils, nuts, nut butter, berries, brown rice (I like it better than white rice), lots of fruits...I could go on.

On the other hand, there are definitely some that I don't like and wish I did. I don't like yogurt, which sucks, because as a vegetarian it's SUCH a good source of calcium and protein.  I also don't like avocados (I know, madness).

Depends on what you call healthy - I love skin-on red potatoes, lima beans, and corn, but my mom degrades those as unhealthy cause they're starches. Whoops!

I do love hummus and reduced fat wheat thins, sweet potatoes, edamame, the whole-wheat versions of carbs (pasta, brown rice, toast), pretty much any fruit, french beans... the list goes on. I try to avoid creamy dips and sauces but they are soooo good - trying to find a suitable replacement that's still delicious!

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: & @mightywombat: My mom always thought I was a weird kid because I asolutely loved broccoli, brussels sprouts and asparagus, but I wouldn't eat anything that had tomato sauce or melted cheese. A kid that happily eats cruciferous veggies but balks at grilled cheese or pizza? I was the bane of other parents who had no idea what to feed me at their kids' birthday parties, lol.

I love steamed veggies with seasonings, grapes, watermelon (altough it is kinda high in calories), and lately I'm a chicken salad fanatic!  My favorite is chicken salad in a whole grain wrap with lettuce, grapes, apples, and pecans.

There are sooo many healthy foods that I love. Seriously when I was overweight I was constantly thinking "What is my freakin problem? I love healthy food!"

Apple Sauce can be used as a dip for things as well :) get the no sugar added stuff, it's sweet enough naturally!

    Peanut Butter with carrots/apples/celery

    Yogurt with granola

Frozen grapes! (seriously they taste like popsicles)

String cheese (Processed I know, but low fat can be hardly any calories)

Mandarin oranges (goes well with a lot of different things but I love them by themselves)

Hardboiled egg whites (egg salad with just a few yolks, low fat mayo--perfection, even better with Eggland's Best)

Southwest salad (black beans, corn, tomatoes, salsa, fresh greens, with a nice low cal dressing--super yummy)

Baked potatos (not super duper healthy but not bad and very yummy--8 minutes in a paper bag in the microwave after poking add some salsa, low fat sour cream, i can't believe it's not butter and/or mixed veggies! love it.)

Tilapia (I love this fish, you can buy it frozen and cook it in the oven, fast and yummy, and tons of great recipes to try with it)

    Bananas--I love bananas

Lowfat Cottage cheese and tomatoes with salt and pepper

Almonds --I know this isn't some peoples thing but I love them raw, mix with raisins  or dried cranberries or blueberries if you don't like them alone

Oatmeal--again I know this is something some people hate, but if you can find the right mix ins it cabn be awesome.
