Well it happened. Since falling in love with the FI, I gained 9 pounds. Does this sound like your story?
My FI jokes, “Better to be fat and happy than skinny and snappy” (I weigh 57 kilos- 125 pounds). It’s usually when he’s teasing me on my driving and I am telling him off.
However, I don’t want to regain the 44 pounds I lost before I met the FI so I’ve gone back onto Weight Watchers to keep on track for my wedding (and get rid of the 9 pounds). Because it works. Because it’s healthy.
Can you share your weight loss journeys on your way to the aisle?

I think it is great that you have decided to take healthy steps to keep your body how you want it. I also think that being conscious of what you eat is a big part of being healthy.
I lost 10 lbs last year and it felt great. I have kept it off, and plan to do it again this year, in time for a wedding. So I guess that puts me in the “want to lose 5-10 lbs” category!
I just count those calories! It makes it less emotional for me when I think of it all as strictly science/math.

Yeah I’d like to lose a few kilos before my latee September wedding. I find it really hard to lose weight actually, I find I stay the same weight regardless of what I eat… but I feel loads better when I’m putting healthy food into my body.
I just started the 30 Day Shred and am limiting ‘bad’ foods, cutting down on my dinner size and avoiding dessert after dinner.

I wouldn’t mind losing five pounds… but I pretty much feel like that all the time haha. (She says after eating a big giant cookie.)

Good for you !! I must admit, I had to Google the “30 day shred” to find out what you were talking about…

I made the decision that I was happy as I was for my wedding and didn’t lose any weight, however, SINCE the wedding, I’ve lost 105 pounds! 🙂 For me it’s been mostly about what foods I’m eating. I have cut processed sugar, simple carbs, gluten, and most dairy from my diet. My exercise is walking which I do around 2-4 miles per day.

Before I met my DH I lsot around 80 pounds. Shortly after we met, I changed careers and took on a more demanding and stress full job (the I love). Between the time we met and he proposed (3 years) I gained close to 60 of those pounds back. Between the proposal and the wedding (14 months) I lost about 25 of those pounds. Since the wedding i have lost another 15 (4 months). I watch what I eat and log every thing into my fitness pal. Also, my hubby and I walk about 40 minutes everyday.
For me stress was a huge factor, the more I took on the worse my weight got. But now as the stress falls away I am getting my weight under control and it seems to be easier.

I put on about 5 pounds of winter weight. When I got measured for my dress, the lady told me not to gain any weight. Little does she know that spring and summer are triathlon training time for me and that weight should fall off. Hopefully the dress she measured me for won’t end up being too big by the time my fitting comes around.

I’ve lost 22 lbs since starting Weight Watchers Online on Jan 21. It’s been pretty easy to be totally honest. I still have a long way to go, but I’m feeling great and you can do it too!!

My highest was 176 (12/2010).
When we got engaged I was around 158 (12/2011). Photo taken 10/2011
When I bought my dress I was 131 (3/2012).
Now, 3.5 weeks away from the wedding I weigh 116.
I eat a healthy, well balanced diet. I don’t cut anything out (other than all meat and fish but that’s more for ethical reasons), and allow myself everything in moderation. I drink lots of water and the occasional glass of wine. I work out 6 days/week and run a ton, do yoga, and circuit train. I don’t believe in the whole “sweating for the dress” thing, but more making a lifestyle change that’s for the long term. Good luck ladies!!!

I have actually lost weight since I met my SO but I had already done a lifestyle change and started my weightloss journey before we met. He has been super supportive and being as happy as I am now has really helped me stay motivated. 🙂
I am down a total of 55 pounds to date which I am of course very proud of. Most of it came off about 2 years ago but I have just kept up the healthy eating and working out as I love how good it makes me feel. I have some treats every now and again of course but it’s about a healthy balance now.
I would like to slim down another 5 pounds for the wedding though so I am trying hard to be extra good (so hard now that it’s still cold and horrible over here!). Everyone tells me it happens naturally in the last 2 months anyway though, as you have so much to do and you get very motivated to not have any extras. I hope they are right! 🙂

@Quickiebee: It does sounds a little bit like me. I’ve been happy, and today I steped on my scale (I have to say that I’ve been avoiding it for a while now…) and uups… +5 kg (+-10lbs).
Up… I’m on a diet again, not weight watchers they are not very common in my country, but I can manage what I eat pretty well, I lost almost 20 kg (40lbs) when I was in high school, so I know I can make this happen, I just have to stay away from the candy section on the store.
Also I printed a picture of a nice role model and put it in the fridge to remind me to stay away if Im not hungry hehe.
