I have two, one is a Polar model that also included a foot pod to tell me how far I ran and the other is the Garmin Forerunner 305, which is mainly a GPS running watch that also includes a HR monitor…

HR monitors are an awesome tool for working out, because it shows you when and how much effort you’re putting in during a workout.  Honestly, even the cheap ones work well, from what I’ve heard and Polar is probably the most well-known HR monitor company, so I think the one you picked out is a great option!

I’ve been told by fitness professional friends that they’re only worth it if you get a crazy expensive one (like a bodybugg) or if it has a chest strap monitor thing.  For whatever reason just something on your wrist isn’t accurate.

I have a polar that is a watch and a chest heartrate monitor and I love it!

I have a polar, also. It’s great because i can check the time in spin class (no clocks/dark) and it counts my calories more or less. But i just like to know that my heart rate is in the target zone.

I have the Polar FT4 and I am an aerobics instructor.  I love mine.  That is a good price – I sell the FT4 for $75.00.

@JustlikeHeaven:  No, I do not sell online.  And to be honest, the Amazon deal is better because I would charge shipping.
