Passed hors d’oeuvres could be awesome, but just make sure you have enough 🙂

I think either one would work. I’m assuming your wedding would go from 11am to what, 2ish? Honestly by then I would personally be starving if I hadn’t eaten lunch :-/

@adoc86:  +1

I would probably be pretty hungry if I hadn’t eaten lunch. I don’t think it’s too stuffy to do sit down. Perhaps you can just have a lighter meal? I’m always a fan of sit down over anything being passed though.

Sit-down lunch. It’s the only way to make sure everyone gets an equal, full portion!

@Tbblount:  I’d be fine with either option as long as you serve enough food. I love weddings that have hors d’oeuvrs stations because I’m a huge fan of variety! On the other hand, I don’t think a sit down lunch is too stuffy at all. Your reception will be held during lunch time so I think people will expect to be fed lunch or a lunch equivalent.

I think you could do passed hors d’oeuvrs and hors d’oeuvrs stations. My cousin did this and it was nice and everyone had plently to eat. Just make sure you have a lot of appetizers and a lot of variety. Seafood, beef, chicken, cheese, veggie, fruit, etc.

We had a sit down lunch because it ended up being cheaper than the passed appetizers.

I love getting tastes of lots of different things so I’d vote heavy hors d’oeuvrs with an emphasis on the heavy. Make sure you have enough that will constitute a meal and make sure it’s easy for everyone to get everything. But honestly, either one would be fine. I just like hors d’oeuvres and the atrmosphere passed dishes creates.

I would do a sit down brunch in that time frame!

Sit down lunch! People may hog up all the passed apps.
