I would rather have more options and graze through out !

I agree, I’d rather have a larger variety of choices with less of each choice.

I just asked my guy for his input on this as well, and we both agree we’d enjoy more choices.  I’m the type who always has to try a little bit of everything anyway.

I feel like I should know this but how many people are coming? And your wedding is later in the evening right (Around 7pm?)?

I feel like it might be better if the foods that have 40 servings had a little bit more but I guess it depends on who’s there (pretty much everyone I know likes shrimp).  And this is a little off topic but will there be dips with the vegetable tray? I love vegetables alone but I know my fiance probably wouldn’t eat that without some kind of dip which would limit him a little more in choices (so I guess it’s semi on topic).  But I think overall I’d probably eat before coming especially if you made sure on the invitations that it wasn’t a dinner reception so I’d be fine with that food personally.

I also asked my fiance what he thought and he said it’d be enough for him.  I think he just looks for desserts usually though.  Smile

I think more choices is better, as long as you don’t have a lot of vegetarians or picky eaters!

I think what you have planned is fine. Obviously if you can have more food I’d always go for that – so if that means asking your FH’s parents then do it. The worst they can say is “no”, right?

I think more options is better. You might want to count on serving more than 40 people for some of the options since your reception is around dinner time people are going to eat more, even if they are only apps.

My brother did this for his reception. Their caterer suggested to count on 3 pieces per app for each guest. I think they ended up having 5-6 different options (if I can remember correctly) and about 150-170 guests but budgeted for 200. There were also some leftovers, but not a huge amount. Their reception was also in the evening..I think the apps starting coming out around 7:00. I’m not sure if that helps you any.
