We stayed 2 resorts down from one of the Hedonism resorts (possibly the Hedonism II?). It was a nude resort, so we stayed away other than the drive by on our glass bottom boat tour. Our driver and his assistant were funny about it, but it's definitely not our thing! I don't have any personal experience with those resorts, but the areas we were in had beautiful rooms. Sounds like a good price!
My roomate went with her boyfriend and they had a great time! Just remember, it is a nude resort so make sure you are comfortable with that. My roomate said that people are very open there and it was more couples having fun than people on honeymoons.
If you do research about it its really not a honeymoon/romance type place. Its mostly about having fun/being open and sex. I have heard that Hedonism resorts are a lot of fun and a great time and good food and service and everything, but I think its more so couples that are revamping their sex lives than newlyweds on their honeymoon. For just a little more (around $3000 I think) you could go to Beaches, Breezes or Sandals which are all inclusive with airfare, transportation from airport and all food and drinks. I would also look up deals on ....http://www.cheapcaribbean.com/
Oh, wow. Thanks for the head up. I did see there is an option to be right near the nude beaches but thought that was a different area. haha
Yeah, I don't know if I want to go there now.
I saw it on cheapcribbean.com. I looked for adult all in inclusive and this one had the 4 stars and price was pretty good. I'll look into the other ones.
haha... the name of the resort was kinda of odd to me. LOL
Haha youre welcome! I was thinking that you might not know what it is, but how shocking it would be to get there and then be like OHH wow!
LOL i just was looking up vacations and people kept saying what FUN this place was! So i looked it up and it definitely looks a little....crazy!
I dunno, it could be a fun experience, ya know? It could be interesting :P
those Hedonism folks have a ton of fun! But like other posters said - it's more of a swingers party for folks already married, vs honeymooners. Try Couples or Sandals, adult all inclusives that include the drive to and from the airport. Both are upscale places and are adults only. You can always pay a day fee and try out Hedonism - they have some fun catamaran rides that I've seen floating by. I'm talking nude people on waterslides, haha.
I had a friend who went to hedonism (dunno which one). She said there was the nude side, which was older people, and the not nude side, which was young people on spring break. So I don't think its all nude, but I think it is more wild than romance.
I didn't wanna say it was a swingers place but i was wondering that. And I don't want to imply I'd be "game" for that =]
Swinging woudl totally scare me off.....but the idea of an all day long party would be hilarious!
Then again, I get a kick out of watching people do silly stuff.
I got the impression it had a little bit of everything for everyone!
@ejs - yeah, that's probably true - i can't speak for anyone there! it's just the vibe you get. One kind of place where everybody just is friendly with one another, vs a more subdued honeymoon spot where you give your new husband/wife googly eyes all week long, know what i mean? I have read that they have giant waterslides and fun pools and trampolines and all kinds of fun things, but i'd be a little freaked out and probably have some clorox wipes in my beach bag to sit anywhere, since half the people are nude, haha. I'm not bashing the party, but i probably won't join it :) heehee
"i'm not bashing, i probably won't join" exactly, LOL.
Maybe I should've gone for spring break in college with my friends, LOL. I think they'd have found this stuff funnier than DH. He'd be like "doesn't that hurt his winky?" lol. I'm picturing nudists on a trampoline and I'm not sure why.
Googly-eyeing gets old after a few days, lol. i like the idea of entertainment! Buah ha ha!
Ok so.... I HAD to post here! I used to be a daytime bartender and I had a regular customer that visited these resorts frequently.... With hearing the stories that he brought back.... You definitely ONLY want to go there if you are a nudist or into open sexuality/swinging.... It is supposed to be a blast and gorgeous but it is also supposed to be CRAZY OPEN.... like people relaxing in the hot tub and then randomly getting it on :-) I wouldn't go there for my honeymoon....
I'm so glad I asked the hive before booking!
I stayed at Sandals Negril which is next to Hedonism. We walked there one day for fun. Pretty much everyone's fully nude and their activity of the day was bikini contest around the pool even though noone was wearing one :) I took my top off to blend but my FI got heckled for being a "prude" since he kept his shorts on. Clientele is mostly aged hippie types. Also they do a "spanksgiving parade" on thanksgiving where they walk the entire beach and visit other resorts wearing nothing but Santa hats in and holiday ornaments in one strategically placed spot :)) Then they walk to unsuspecting beach goers and cheer for them to flash their privates and throw beads at them. Hilarious to watch! But yeah, not a place where I would go to stay with my SO - or with anyone else for that matter.

Found a great honeymoon vacay at Hedonism in Jamaica for 5 days including airfare from Seattle for $2500. Exactly what I was looking for. It says its a 4 star hotel and I'm upgrading to an ocean front room.
Anyone been or going here?
