WE just found out that the Brittish company that was hand making all the groomsmen vests and the pants for the groom has filed bankruptcy. I am supposed to be married in a few short weeks. The money if returned will not be available for months, we don’t have the funds as our budget is extremely tight as is. The vests were pricey at $200 we can’t ask the groomsmen to spend more. My groom is extremely upset. This was one of the few visions he had for the wedding. Vintage- edwaridan style vests for everyone. What do we do?

Do you know for sure they haven’t started anything? If your vests were mid-production maybe they can give you what’s been done so far and another tailor can finish?

We gavethr groomsmen a few options. I came up with suspenders my super fantastic seamstress offered to create vests from thrift store tweed jackets, or the groomsmen could pick another vest and we would payhalf within reason. We are having diy budget pinching vintage Cthulhu wedding this was notin the cards. Husband redbee came around and supported the suspenders. One groomsmen was ” horrified” at the thought of wearing suspenders. I assailed him with a picture montage of suspender awesomeness. I am wearing wedding dress with black sewn into the tulle skirt…we can handle out of the box. If only Husband Redbee would adjust to not wearing pants that match his- the onky vest that came last year.
The company has shut off all email and phonelines except for a closure complaint line. The only person notified was the one in our party who could cancel his order (had to be within 30 days if order). Ironically, this guy had pissed me off fir ordering so late. We thought his was the only one who wouldn’t get here on time.
Thank you all for the suggestions but more so for letting me vent.
