I wanted to say hello to all the encore brides. I too am an encore and am excited to have found weddingbee!
While planning my first wedding, I was on the knot (perhaps addicted to the knot is more appropriate). I was disturbed by how mean many of the brides were and often felt afraid to post anything. A friend told me about this site and said that all the brides were helpful and kind.
I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and just wanted to say hello!

I really feel like weddingbee is a lot more positive that the knot. Welcome and I hope you love the ‘bee!!

Hello! I’m also an encore bride! I’m newer to the site too and have found it way more inviting than the knot!

Hi and welcome – I’m an encore bride as well! This site is amazing – for the most part EVERYONE here is just great.

Hello and welcome to the ‘bee! I also registered with the Knot first, before I found weddingbee, and I have to be honest…I NEVER check in over there anymore! There’s WAY more love here!
This is a GREAT board for encores. Be sure and check the profiles of some of us…that’s where I’ve found some really cool blogs to follow for inspiration, support and just plain old not feeling alone in this whole encore thing!
Once again, welcome!

Since you asked…
I’ve just started planning. Actually – that is a lie – I’ve been planning this in my mind for months; long before I was engaged.
We are planning a very small wedding in DC – about 40 people. We aren’t traditional in anyway and we want the wedding to reflect the things we love and love about each other. Our plan is to be married at the Ronald Reagan Building and have a small dinner following at Vidalia. My Fiance is a chef and food is what brought us together.(It is also what has caused us both to gain 20 pounds in the last year!) We had our first date at Vidalia and walked through the RR Building on our way to visit some of the museums.
We are also thinking of having a party afterwards for friends and extended family. Something casual – crabs, beer, and hopefully lots of sunshine.
On a final note…I am about to go crazy if I don’t get to try on a dress soon – I’ve been living in the Virgin Islands and we don’t have any bridal shops. I just moved back to the mainland and am determined to have a dress on by the end of the week!
Thanks for warm welcome from everyone!
