I had spotting every few weeks after stopping BC, but didn’t actually ovulate for 3 months. Pending this cycle, I think I’m back to “normal” now… so it would have taken about 8 months for me to finally regulate.

That happened to me. I got off BCP in June. Had 1.5 days of spotting (not enough to even call it a real period). Then nothing. Thought I was “late”, but really just my cycle regulating. Got my real period about 5 weeks after the 1.5 days of spotting. Almost 8 weeks of nothing. It takes time. Don’t worry yet.

@SweetVanity:  i had been on BCP from age 17-31.  the last year i was put on loestrin and only had my period every 3 months.  i went off BCP in june, i was expecting irregular periods.  surprisingly, i am exactly on schedule.  it is almost frightening.  the only bad thing, now that i am off BCP, i get terrible cramps and headaches.  i haven’t had those since high school, i forgot what it felt like.

i have heard it takes a few months to get back on schedule.  if your gyn doesn’t find anything strange about it, then don’t worry about it.
