Hey Laura - welcome! Glad to see some activity on the Delaware boards! :)
Hello,
It is nice to know there is somewhere for the DE brides to go to. Conrats to the both of you!
udlaurak: I also has decide on location, FI family is in OH, my family is in NY. So we decided on a DE wedding. It was a hard decision.
Hi ladies! I too, am ending up getting married in DE b/c the FIs family was one place and mine another: His family is from OH, and mine from NC. Half way would be Western Virginia, but I didn't think that was far enough from the encroaching inflation of DC, especially not for weddings, given some of those amazing horse ranches and farms out that way! So, we went with Dover, DE where FI lives. Dover is not terribly wedding vendor friendly though...having a hard time finding flowers and cakes and hairdressers...Found a great, tax free way cheap dress tho! :-)
Hi Angelique02
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I am using a few vendors in Dover that I thought I would tell you about.
Flowers: JenMor Florist. Its on rt 13. Almost directly across the street from Johnny Jonisick. They were very nice and reasonable priced. Willing to try to things as well.
Cake: There is a cake place in the Acme plaze next to Dover Downs. I have heard good things about this place. However, I am not using them. I am using Sweets to you by Ginger in Wilmington ( cake come with my reception package).
Hair: We are going to the Upper Cut also on rt 13 in the Concord Pet plaza. Where pigs fly is in the plaza as well. I priced Toppers in Dover Downs as well, Upper Cut was cheaper. Make appts soon though. They fill up fast.
Is your wedding in June? If your intrested... I will have lots of vases to sell after the wedding.
Hope planning is going well. It goes by quick.
Hi, yes we're getting married in June. Thanks for the Dover vendors tips. I'll give Upper Cuts a call.
Would love to see a pic of your vases--as long as you're selling them for less than$4 each. Budget constraints--I'm sure you understand!
Thanks for your input!
WOW talk about late reponse. I do have some vases as well as a few other things. Let me know if your intrested Vases would be 50 cents.

Seems this board doesn't get a lot of action, but I thought I'd post anyway and introduce myself.
My name is Laura and currently I'm living in NC with my fiance. We moved down here a little over a year ago and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT.
We became engaged in mid-December and have gone back and forth between a North Carolina Wedding or a DE wedding (where all our family is). FI wanted me to really think about what would make me happiest and I am 99% sure I have decided on a Delaware wedding. It is just easier for our guests and while planning long distance may be a pain in the butt, I do plan on delegating some responsibilities to our mothers.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and that I look forward to exchanging ideas!!
