@Mrs. Rooster:

I suggest thinking about the type of feeling you want your wedding to have.  Elegant? Rustic? Modern? Vintage? Whimsical? etc.  Then I would make an inspiration board and see what elements/colors/theme you tend to like best.  🙂

I had the same exact hang up. Once I figured out what colors I wanted, I then constantly debated about the particular shade and tone of the colors. It was a nightmare! I spent countless hours surfing through inspiration boards and even created some myself. This was helpful. Have you looked at venues yet? This was particulary helpful for sealing the deal because each venue has its own feel and atmosphere.

For instance, I was considering using orange and teal. We knew that we wanted the wedding down at the beach, but had considered having a church ceremony. Once we got into the church the ailse had this deep burgundy carpet running down the center. It would have looked awful with blue or orange. We ended up not going with the church or those colors, but you can see how the colors can have an effect on the venue.

Search the web for inspiration!

Welcome and congratulations!!!

Once I picked the venue, it was pretty easy to think about going in one direction. The hardest part for me was trying to choose colors. I couldn’t choose, so I am doing a color pallette. Also, once I make a decision, to keep me from changing my mind, I act on it. That way there is no turning back. It helps me for the most part, but I still find myself wanting to do something different every now and then.

@Mrs. Rooster:

OMG yes, I thought I had the perfect scheme picked out. Had all my stuff in my head but then found this one fabric from BBJ and changed my whole color scheme. It is difficult but fun at the same time. I used Google Images like mad when I first started and it helped me alot.
