I must admit I’ve come to the waiting board a few times to have a bit of a sneaky read, but I’ve tried to hold back from posting, because I was hoping to avoid boards until we were actually engaged. But tomorrow we’re going into London either so he can choose diamonds or collect the ring (I have no idea which!) and I just really wanted to write somewhere about how excited I am!
We’ve been together for 18 months now and in all honesty if we’d had the money we would have got married a year ago 🙂 We started sharing a house about a month after we started officially going out, which might seem like a bit of a risk but we felt so confident it would work. He’s the kindest, sweetest, gentlest, most intelligent, funniest, most attractive man I’ve ever met and I feel so lucky that he loves me too. That sounds like I am devaluing myself but I’m not – I just appreciate how wonderful He is too 🙂 And we Remember each other 🙂 Aw he’s just lovely 🙂 Am so excited 🙂
But yes! He’s adamant that he wants to propose with a beautiful ring and so has been saving really hard for months now. We’ve talked about it all and are both so excited if scared too (we’ve both had hard knocks in our past). So I’m a bit nervous – but OMG! I’ve wanted to be married to him for over a year now – and tomorrow I think he might be getting the ring! 😮 🙂 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome!!! I know, it’s hard to resist these boards, it helps to post though since we waiting bees can’t really talk about it in “real” life until we’re engaged yet 😉 Helps get it out of our system!! So excited for you, and hope it happens soon, good luck!

lol! 🙂 I’m so excited but so nervous just because well, it’s a bit scary knowing how utterly I have his heart in my hands. I think I’m scared in case I say something wrong or am accidentally so excited I say no or something! 😮 Ah, and thus my pre-engagement nerves become apparent 🙂

You’ll be fine when he proposes, you sound more than ready to say yes! 😀 I’m so excited for you! Also, welcome to the hive! I’m a waiting bee too, and probably will be for a few months at least.

I had my first engagement ring bad dream last night! 😮 I dreamt it had too many diamonds and was hugely tall (I wave my hands around a lot so this would be bad) and just – wasn’t that nice. Oh and then it sort of turned into a bracelet full of tissue paper, but he hadn’t realised you had to take the tissue paper out and thread in this piece of gingham ribbon…
I was SO relieved when I woke up and realised this hadn’t actually happened, but I fear it may be a sign of impending madness…!
And 2PeasinaPod, Calvin and Hobbes are so lovely aren’t they 🙂

Welcome! What an exciting time for you both!
My SO and I were the same way, come to think of it. He spent the night during our second week of dating, and frankly, never left. We moved in together right away, and although it appeared crazy and I had to pinch myself a few times to make sure I was still sane (before him, I was insanely cautious in relationships, even a bit of an ice princess), it worked for us, and I’ve never been happier. We would have eloped during month 2 if it wasn’t so important that we both really knew one anothers’ families first.
Anywho – Congrats!!
