FI and i are currently living in Pittsburgh (while FI finishes school) but we will be moving back home in the summer. We are planning a wedding in the north shore suburbs. (Hopefully we will nail down the venue and date within the next few months! )

I wish. I moved to Kansas City a year ago...oh how I miss Chicago! It's probably for the best....my family is here so they won't have to travel for the wedding!
ME ME ME!!!!! :) Well....it's complicated because FI lives/works in Chicago which is where I will be after we get married (I'm living in PA finishing graduate school). I can't wait until I can move to Chicago to be with him!
BUT...our wedding is in Indiana because that is where FI is from and where most of our friends/family are, but I'm from Michigan so that is where I call home and where my family lives. Crazy, but hey, that's how it is.
We should have a Chicago weddingbee meet up like the ladies in Seatle, NYC, and Atlanta do!!!!!
This is soo funny how we are all wanting to claim Chicago, yet our stories are taking us to or from Chicago. Meeting up would be fun.

Hi MissyE! I've been trying to avoid the 'bee a little b/c I get sucked in and spend too much time on this. With the wedding 19 days away, I need to be productive...which probably means I should get off of the couch right now.
Well HELLO Ladies!!! I'm from the West Burbs technically, But only 25mins from the City! Am I the only one crazy enough to be planning on getting Married in a Chiccago Winter??? LOL!! We're shooting for January! We've been together for almost 9 years so when he purposed we decided why wait forever?! So we officailly have like a month and a half to plan!eep!

The things I'm worried about most is wearing a perfect pure white dress and heels threw the January snow and slushyness. : p
I feel you there MissyE! I'm getting married in Toledo, OH on New Years Eve. My only hope is that it won't have snowed there yet! Are you doing outdoor pictures?
MissyE, that reminds me of the one episode of Bridezillas where the girl put bags over her shoes so she wouldn't mess them up! Hopefully it won't be too slushy for you. You just never know around here.

I heard that, too, Nachos. : T I really need to get winter boots--all the boots I've been wearing are non-waterproof or have peep toes. Like that's gonna work in the snow!
Haha parfait, I did buy a pair of white slipper boots that I have water proofed to wear out and about if I need to. And I will def be showing pictures! I want lots of outside (hopefully snowy!) pictures!
@ Nachos - is it really supposed to snow tomorrow already! Hopefully not too much, we're going back to Ohio on Friday night!
Oh my god, MissyE, you HAVE to go to the boutique where I bought my wedding shoes (although I'm assuming you've gotten yours already), but there was the CUTEST pair of wedding boots for a winter wedding. I actually seriously wanted to change our wedding to a winter wonderland just for those boots! I wish there was a picture on his website but there isn't. They are satin with a little soft fur around the top. The shop is on Clark and it's James Ciccotti.
Been following the Weddingbee boards for awhile now but wanted to say hello to my fellow Chicago brides :) I live in Chicago now but getting married in Southern California (near San Diego).
@OBT - not sure where we're doing pictures at lol! We're getting married at the Court House and then having a reception afterwards. I guess we could pretty much do our pics anywhere...my MOH is a prophotographer!
@Nachos- I LOVE that show!Those girls are just OverTheTop! lol! And i heard snow too booo : (. And i didn't even KNOW they Had wedding boots!!hehe! I do have my shoes already and they are TO DIE FOR! the cutest shoes ever! I actually have a post on here with a pic of them!
@Bruinbride- Lucky!!!!! I've never been to Cali but i want to! I'm soooo not made for IL weather LoL!
I've been reading the posts on here for a while and finally joined tonight. I live in Indiana now but grew up in the Western burbs. We are getting married in Tinley Park. It will be nice to have the wedding at "home"

Chicago area bride here! Born and raised on the Southside! Now live and am getting married in the SW Suburbs. Ive been engaged since last Sept 2008 and am shooting for a Oct 10, 2010 wedding.
We are now starting to look at vendors and Im hoping to have the reception and photog narrowed down by February. (I was laid off for 8 months and had to put planning off, but now that Im working again we are on it!)

We're planning a downtown Chicago wedding for June 5th! Only 6 months to go... ceremony in Lincoln Park at our church, reception in the West Loop. Anyone else crazy enough to plan a downtown wedding or is it just me?!
