I am going to be the Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding, and am drawing a blank when it comes to the theme.
I know showers don’t necessarily “need” to have a theme, but I would love for this one to! I know that on wedding blogs there are always photos from fabulous showers, but I just can’t seen to find any right now.
I would love to have a theme that set this showers apart from the rest. I thought it would be fun to have the girls wear the same things (For example big, floppy hats and have a kentucky derby themed shower). but can’t think of a better idea than that!
Please post ideas and pictures. I am open to anything.

Teaparty is a popular theme which I think is cute.
My best friend is having a Lu-al (not sure how to spell it, lol) which could be a lot of fun.
Other than that, think about what the bride likes. Does she read a lot? Is she glued to her phone? Does she have an obsession with shoes? Play on that and find a cute way to incorporate it into her shower.

@MissDareDevil: Dang, I was going to say Kentucky Derby! LOL! My friend is a horse trainer, and we are throwing her a derby shower next month – formal attire, floppy hats, and mint juleps….lots and lots of mint juleps….

What is the feel/theme of her wedding? I’m going to a shower in a couple weeks that is afternoon tea themed, whatever that means LOL.

“Perfect Blend” coffee theme
collect coffee mugs in the bride’s colors
fill cylinder vases or mason jars with coffee beans and flowers
have cupcakes with the same colors
decorate like a coffee house- make a sign from an old wondow frame
use another old window to make a menu with blackboard paint
use french press coffeemakers cause they look so great

her wedding is very vintage, outdoors, with lots of wildflowers and vintage props. she is wearing a tea length dress and vintage shoes…the technical theme is “sew in love” and they are using a lot of old sewing machines spools of thread, and patchwork.

Depending on how crafty you or one of the other girls is, you can have a quilting shower? Get different quilting squares and have everyone write words of wisdom for the happy couple. Have someone sew it together for them.
