I think  my diamond is just over 7 mm.  It is a carat and a third.  I have size 5.5 fingers.  I think it is plenty big.

The stone will definitely look different when it’s set!  And your girlfriend has smaller fingers, so it should give good finger coverage.  I’m sure it’s going to be beautiful!

Stones always look small until they’re set, it’s just a trick of the eye. And the setting you chose should show off your moissanite stone nicely! I’m sure the 7.5mm will have nice coverage on your future fiance’s finger. You’ve got nothing to worry about.

I agree you have nothing to worry about.  I posted my ring because it is a similar sized stone on a similar sized finger.  I think my stone is PLENTY big.  I would not want it bigger.

Brett: bigger relative to what? I have a .8 ct / 6 mm diamond on a size 5 finger, and the coverage is equivalent to a 1ct diamond on a size 6 finger. I tried on a 2 ct diamond solitare and it looked like a doorknob.

Google some finger size to stone table mm sizing charts for more insight. What’s your FFI’s taste? Does she like to go bling or go home? Is another mm going to ruin it for her? 🙂

I think 7.5 is a perfect size, especially for her small finger (Lucky gal).

Proceed; you’re good! Congratulations in advance.

Brett: You’re so sweet! I’m sure she’ll love it!! My FI actually wanted to go much, much smaller (we were looking at .25 – .4 ct asschers for a long time, and they face up small) since we both are more subtle people.

We ended up going bigger since we discussed never getting an upgrade + wanting it to be something that can be passed on. Frankly, .25 – .4 asschers only appeal to a small number of ladies.

Point is, it will be gorgeous and she will say yes and you guys will have an awesome life together. 🙂
