Weddingbee boards

This is the dress I wore last June to one of my best friend's wedding.  This June, my other best friend is getting married (yep, two in a row). April is when I'm throwing her bridal shower, and I'd really love to reuse this dress (my two best friends, oddly enough, have never met because we all live in different states, so this year's bride to be hasn't seen me in this dress...I don't know if anyone thinks that'll cause harsh feelings?  I don't know, haha). 

My dilemma is accessorizing. My first inclination is black; black shoes, black shrug (I don't like my arms, so I definitely want a shrug - preferably short sleeved, no longer than a 1/4 length). But, since it's a spring bridal shower...is that a fauxpa? And if so, what do I wear to make it more season-appropriate?

Another reason I'd really like to reuse this dress is to prove to the other bridesmaids that some dresses can be worn again. They're a bit miffed with the dresses chosen for the upcoming wedding. The bride wanted us in black dresses, and I love it! Black is so much easier to wear and accessorize than purple, IMO. I guess they just wanted something flashier? Regardless, this dress is comfortable, and I'm confident in it (minus the arm thing) and I'd just love to wear it again.

Help? Advice?
