(Closed) HELP! Addressing Vertical Envelopes

Address them horizontally like a normal envelope. All the examples on the post office website are addressed that way, and any big manilla envelopes I’ve gotten (that also open on the short end) are addressed horizontally, too. Besides, you’d have trouble fitting in some of the longer addresses if you addressed vertically.

You should address them horizontally… otherwise you’ll have to pay more for postage as they won’t meet the post office aspect ratio requirements.

I agree horizontal- I would hate for it to cause problems at the post office and have to redo them!

Yes yes, definitely horizontal…. the post office will charge you out the wazooo if you address them vertically. 

I like open-ended envelopes, though!  🙂  (That’s what it’s called when the opening is on the short end)

Poodle, it has to do with the way they put mail through their automated machines and how they’re scanned for zip codes.
