me and Fiance have our hearts set on a 50’s wedding theme, we both love the more fun upbeat style from the 50’s, but i also love the elegant side of things, pretty cupcakes, lots of china that kind of thing.
my thoughts are to incorporate both, however side by side i think tradition 50’s and 50’s rock and roll might look a bit odd.
in the UK we traditional have:
the wedding breakfast (three course sit down meal)
the reception (big party lots of fun and dancing)
my idea is to have a very pretty ceremony and a pretty wedding breakfast with more traditional 50’s elements and then to jazz it all up in the evening.
night: unfortunately i’m struggling to upload a pic for this one. so think rock and roll in brighter shades of coral and teal, i love the idea making my centerpieces look like giant milkshakes made out of flowers
and popcorn muffins
my Fiance is more into the more themed version of a 50’s style wedding so i suppose this way we both get what we want 🙂
your thoughts please …

@julies1949: thanks, my Fiance is really getting into the wedding spirt, i am thinking of letting him plan the entire evening while i plan the day time, i can see inflatable guitars and giant popcorn props but i really don’t mind as long as the day time is more elegant and respectful i am happy for him to go over the top and crazy in the evening, we have a lot of kids coming so they are sure to love it 🙂

Love it 🙂 I really like that you can do soft pastel + bright & fun colour schemes. Best of both worlds 🙂

Those milkshake flowers look awesome, especially with the popcorn muffins (cupcakes?)!
