- Wedding: August 2011
Ok, my fiance and I both have divorced/remarried parents. I started the wedding guest list quite some time ago and I have a huge problem. The guest list is at 228 people and our venue holds 188 max. The guest list includes my finance’s step dad’s entire family. Here’s the kicker. My finance told her mom that we needed to keep the number of people down and to send us a list of people she wanted to invite. Well, this list is for about 40 some people. 25 or so of those people are his step-dad’s family. He has been introduced to one of his step dad’s sisters and maybe one brother like 15 years ago. The rest of the family he and I have NEVER met. I mean never met, never even heard of (they live all over the US). I need to know the best way possible to approach the subject with my future mother in law. I’m super stressed out about the number of people and I need to remove them from the guest list. Chances are they wouldn’t show up, but the slim chance that they decide to is a risk I’m not willing to take. How do I go about doing this????
