You can use peppermint oil. PUt a few drops on a cotton ball and put it near outdoor openings. Its too strong for them to handle, and I’m pretty sure too strong for the pup too, but even if he eats them, they won’t hurt him

Call an exterminator.  Ask what is safe for animals.  I wish I knew the certain poison/ant trap he gives us, but whatever it is – they disappear in a day.  It’s that time of the year.  They’re everywhere.

This is going to sound weird but corn meal.  I sprinkle it and the ants eat it and they die.  I also have a puppy and my brother as two babies so this is what we use.

I use terro, and my pets have never so much as attempted to eat it.

We just had an exterminator out that used a pet safe spray. We have 2 cats and they are super nosy and in to everything! She came and sprayed and the ants were gone in a day and I have not seen them since (fingers crossed).

Although, a holistic alternative to add to the peppermint oil is cayan pepper. My best freind sprinkles it around the perimiter of her kitchen and by her door ways, she swears by it.
