ok i’ve broken the cardinal sin. i bought a dress about a month ago because i was convinced it was the one and finally had that fuzzy feeling. my wedding isn’t til May 2013 so my mum was trying to persuade me to wait for the new season dresses but i was stubborn and bought it. i do think it is a truly stunning dress with the amazing beading and the silk flowers on the skirt, but now i have a problem.
fast forward to this week and i happened to be going shopping and stupidly decided to stop into a building full of bridal stores. and they had some new Pronovias 2013 dresses in. first mistake was going in, second mistake was trying on the dresses. i’ve now fallen in love with another dress. it’s so different to the first one but just as detailed and i like that it shows off my figure more. i feel that it’s kind of “more is more”. the small amount of feathers at the top, beautiful lace bodice and fluffy organza flange skirt…
i don’t know what i should do. i could technically afford to buy both, but would it be OTT to wear them? i asked one of my BMs and she said that because they are both so detailed it would lose its impact. but i’m pretty tempted to wear the pronovias to the ceremony, and then the martina liana to the reception as its comfortable and really easy to move around in.
or should i sell the first one and buy the pronovias?
or should i just keep the first one?

Do you have pictures of yourself in both?

@kala_way: thanks for your input!
@cherryblossomlove: tell me about it! already feeling the crazy lol. ironic thing is i have a gf also getting married and i told her specifically DO NOT keep looking. total *facepalm*
@StarryNight2011: thanks 🙂 definitely reassuring to know that other people think it’s a stunning dress!
@aheavel: no i don’t unfortunately. if it helps i’m 5’2″ and a size 0.

The first one is SO STUNNING! Love it.

Ok, well then I will admit, when I saw the picture of the first dress I thought you were going to say that was the one you recently fell in love with and I was thinking “obviously, look at it!” – it’s a very stunning dress. On the flip side, the 2nd dress is very pretty too. Here’s the thing, at 5″2 and a size 0 you will probably look absolutely amazing in any dress you put on so just stop looking because you will end up loving 27 dresses, lol! When you say you could technically afford both what exactly does that mean? Would you be taking money from another aspect of your wedding budget or is it just money sitting around?

I think the first dress is amazing and you should try to put the second dress out of your mind. You could shop forever and keep finding “better” dresses just because new is exciting, you know?

The first is my favorite. It’s unique and beautiful. The second one is lovely, but it seems like the style of the moment (i.e. everything kind of looks similar).

First dress by far! Gorgeous!

@aheavel: ahhh you’re so insightful!! that was the exact problem i was having when i first started shopping (well i suppose it’s not really a problem). alot of dresses objectively looked good, but nothing made my heart go flip flop until i tried the martina liana. and now the pronovias. 27 dresses would be a nightmare…i read that article about the bride in the UK who bought 18 dresses for over $20k. AY CARUMBA! anyway i do have some extra money that i could use for the pronovias without detracting from our budget, and i was originally thinking of buying a dress for the reception BUT not another wedding dress. at the same time i don’t want to be silly/greedy though…*sigh*.
@Jijitattoo: that’s one thing i was trying to work out. do i just like it because it’s new and exciting? you’re probably right to a degree..i have to admit when i finally bought my dress i was sad i couldn’t keep going dress shopping lol
@HeathenSwan: thanks for your input darl

@marchesa6989: You have over a year until your wedding. If I were you I would wait for “your” original dress to come in. I can’t tell you what a huge difference it made when I had my actual dress on vs. the sample – I fell in love all over. Get your alterations done and then if you are still thinking about the other dress go try it on again, you would still have time to order it if you were still in love with it but, I have a feeling it’s just lust 🙂

I like the first one better. I would keep your oringal choice. I didnt the same thing, I bought my dress just because it was on sale, it was almost a year ago. Now when i see other peoples dresses I just want to go buy another one. BUt i know in my heart that my first dress I bought is the one I really love the most. Keep your dress, you will regret it if you get rid of it.

Personally, I think the first one is beautiful! There is always that “I bet I could get something better/prettier/more comfortable” no matter WHAT dress you get. I say, retry the first one on and see why you fell in love with it to begin with!
