So my brother is getting married next September and his fiance’s bridal shower is in a few weeks. I don’t really want to get her anything like lingerie or anything as bland as plates and silverwear from the wedding registry. What were some things you liked that you have seen gifted at a bridal shower? Is it appropriate to get her something functional for the honeymoon? They are going to India and they are both not used to “roughing it” which many people have warned them they will need to do in India. Any advice would be greatly apreciated!

Just get something off the registry. That’s why it’s there. If you must go rogue, at least ask your brother what you should get her.

I would stick to the registry.

India guide book and something related (if possible) from their registry. Do they have a registry?

@Fireflysushi: I would stick to the registry, people put a lot of time and effort into picking EXACTLY what they want.

@engleman10513: They do. They are registered at 3 different stores, but almost everything has already been purchased. She is from a very wealthy family, and they have been livving together for a while now so have everything they need and can afford everything they don’t have. She tells me again and again that I don’t need to get her anything and that she only made registries because people told her she needed them. I am thinking of getting her a water filter incase they are in areas where fresh water isn’t readily available.

If their registries are full get them a gift card to an indian restaurant so they know what they are getting into 🙂
