I vote for doing the ivory/plum. I might be biased though - we are using those same gray tuxes, and the bridesmaids have purple dresses. I love purple and gray together! I actually don't like the idea of pewter, because with the GMs tuxes being gray, I think it might be too much of the same color.
@Tulip: That was my thought! I actually brought in a pewter dress when FI was trying on his tux b/c I was worried about that.
My only concern is now...do I keep the same style and have the sash AND skirt be plum?
@Mattel: The stone isn't bad...but I don't really have any brown tones anywhere else....that is my only draw back there.
@mizrunzou - I think it would look great to have both the sash and skirt be plum!

Help! My bridesmaids all picked out and agreed up on a Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dress in August. I was told, at the time, I could pick three colors (as long as they were the right fabric) from the swatch book and have in any order I wanted on the dress (bodice, sash, skirt)...So, I/we picked this order:
Ivory Bodice, Plum Sash, and Pewter Skirt.
My colors are Plum/Grey with a accent of chartruese (mainly from flowers). FI and GM's tux are Grey from Calvin Klein.
Salon went to order the BM dresses this week and Jim Hjelm said I can only pick TWO colors and the third will be the back of one of the fabrics (it is two-faced tafetta). Well, the back of the plum is BLACK and the back of the Pewter is Stone.
I don't want any of these combos...So, I'm thinking of just doing two colors...
Ivory/Plum OR Ivory/Pewter
Thoughts? I'm attaching a pick of the original BM dress in three colors and FI's tux. Jim Hjelm has a few similar designs that come in only two colors....I don't know if I'd have to change styles if I go with only two colors....
