Hmmm… I think I saw an asymmetrical french bustle on “say yes to the dress” once, but it was for more of a pick-up skirt, but I think it could work here. Why is your seamstress asking your for ideas anyway?  See if she can show you a few options pinned on the dress or something.

I’ve seen asymmetrical bustles. but they were on asymmetrical trains. Your train itself isn’t, just the ruffles. The main thing is, you don’t want to loose that feature. I’m sure they could do some kind of modified french.

I’m wearing pronovias’ Georgia, and I’m at a loss on the bustle too. They say the french will work, but it seems like it’s going to be really complicated, lol.

I don’t know what season it was, but I think it was a woman (possibly with a twin?) who bought a dress that she was worried looked too much like a down comforter, so she came back to look at more dresses, but ended up sticking with her original dress.  I either saw the bustle on that episode, or else she came back and they did an alterations segment on her… Sorry I can’t remember!  Anyone else know what I’m talking about?

I will poof it a bit… otherwise it tangles around my feet, lol. And NO, megan is hands down the right dress!

I would probably leave yours as is as well.

When’s the appt? I’d love to see pictures of what you decide to do!

@tweds- to upload pictures, use the “upload files from your computer” section.  Hit “browse” and it should allow you to choose a picture from your computer.  Just make sure it’s small enough.  I always have to resize mine.

My dress doesn’t have this issue (though I will do a french bustle!) but if you’d like to see a pic, click on my name and look for the post I made a couple days ago when I was having a mini panic attack, lol…

Thanks so much!  I resize with something called “photoscape”, its a free editing program that lets you do a bunch of basic things- resize, crop, rotate, eliminate red eye, etc.  You can get it here: http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php
