I’ve been through about five pages of search results here (putting up with infuriating autoplay sound ads for every thread I opened) and numerous google searches and I still feel hopelessly stumped. Nothing’s joyous enough! I’m talking Joy to the World if it wasn’t a Christmas carol 😛
The closest I’ve come (don’t laugh) is Throne Room/Finale from Star Wars: A New Hope. But despite the fact that he introduced me to Star Wars FH isn’t quite game enough. “Happy Together” by the Turtles is probably next closest but something just isn’t quite right with it. I liked the “Rhythm of Love” snippet on iTunes… until I downloaded the rest of the song and realised it sounds like they’re talking about a one night stand!
Processional is Vitamin String Quartet’s All You Need is Love
Signing is 1000 years.
Recessional is…. ????
(admittedly, it’s going to be a short & sweet ceremony on a rooftop so words like “processional” and “recessional” sound a touch grand but I guess that’s the best terminology.

@goingtotherooftopoflove: The recessional at my wedding was “Concerning Hobbits” from the LOTR soundtrack. It was fun, upbeat, and nothing too ‘grand’. Give it a listen on YouTube!

We did “Give a Little Bit” by Supertramp. I really liked the lyrics to that song and it was upbeat enough for a recessional.

@goingtotherooftopoflove: Best Day of My Life by American Authors?

I loved our recessional song! It was “it’s a beautiful day” by Michael BubLe. YES it is technically a breakup song but the DJ started it at the chorus and no one knew! Haha! It was kind of a funny joke for us. 🙂

We’re using “Got to Give it Up” By Marvine Gaye. It’s fun song, and will be a great way to transition into celebration!

We used “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus. It was partially a joke with some wedding party members but it got everyone laughing and ready to party.
The guys’s processional was Cantina Song and Imperial March. I hate Star Wars, but husband wanted it…and it was his processional so he got it! So Star Wars could work too!

We also for the life of us couldn’t decide on a recessional song. As a joke, I suggested “Love and Marriage” by Frank Sinatra (also the theme song from Married with Children), and the more we talked about it, the better it sounded! By the time the wedding day came, the song was a hit! Everyone loved the choice and laughed as it played and we left.

@LTD418: I love this! What an awesome idea! 🙂

I had a piano version of wonderwall 🙂 Everyone loved it. And so did we of course!
Second option was going to Feeling Good – Buble

We used “San Francisco” by The Mowgli’s, precisely because it is so happy and joyous!
I also wanted to use “The Light is You” by Said The Whale, it’s super cute, but a little on the short side. I like to use silly nicknames, so this song made me smile, but my husband wasn’t a huge fan…

NowDontLetsBeSilly: We’re planning on using San Francisco for entrance. Such a sweet, upbeat song!

we are using Jimmy Cliffs ‘I can see clearly now.’ I heard of someone using that newer HAPPY song, that seemed fun and cute and upbeat

Do you have a pianist or band of some kind? We had my little brother as our pianist, and he played a classical version of our university’s fight song. If you knew the song, you would’ve heard him playing it, but if you didn’t know it, you would have had no idea what it was, just thought it was a nice classical song.

I used the VSQ version of Viva la Vida for mine- it seems like our ceremony music will be similar, because we used the VSQ version of Chasing Cars for our processional
