I like them both. Sorry, that doesn’t help you any but I do think they are pretty. I will say that I do think your version looks more like a wedding centerpiece than his so you are headed in the right direction:)

I agree with you. They are pretty, but something is missing. I can’t figure out what it is either. Maybe doing different heights for vases or adding a strip of sparkle around the vase? Something is missing in the flowers also

Maybe something a little light and airy! =) White chrysanthemum? Baby’s Breath?

I think you are headed in an awesome direction, but think something light/fluffy and ivory is missing! Great Job! Your giving me courage!!

Think 360! People are going to be looking at all sides of that arrangement.

I like the second one out of those two much better.  I like what CupCakeMeg said about adding some light and airy materials.

Was the shape of the arrangement your idea?  It almost seems like the shape of the big funeral arrangements you see at every funeral.  I like the shape better after you’ve messed with it and added the ivory roses.  It seems like it’s getting more towards a wedding-ish shape.

Hmm based on your inspiration photo what about removing the greens you have in the second photo and adding some broad green leaves and a little baby’s breath to soften them?  What about using ivory cabbage roses?

The inspiration photo shows the flowers arranged low and round. The one the florist is much taller than what you want. Just cut the stems shorter and create a rounder, tighter arrangement.

I can’t believe your florist can’t duplicate what you’re asking for, I even can do that!!!! Good luck.

okay how much of a deposit did you put down with this guy? you’re in brooklyn and he can’t get it right? i’d go with someone else. The stock he’s using isn’t really up to snuff – it’s not bloomed all the way to the top so you’re not getting the “wow” factor that the lilac had in the photo you showed him.

my 2 cents – cymbidiums can be ghastly expensive, is it possible to use large green fuji mums instead? Seriously, I’ve been a flower shipper but never trained as a florist and just like ILL Be Mrs B above, I think i could do better too.

ps is he using gorse for filler? could you use viburnum instead?

I like your version SO much better but I also agree with IllbeMrsB- that tall center purple flower is definetly throwing the whole thing off
