Hey Bees! I need a little help and I am a bit confused. Does my wedding party have to walk down the aisle to a different song than me? I was thinking of having them walk down to “A Thousand Years” by Cristina Perry and me to “Turning Page.” However I have a small bridal party of only 4 bm’s and gm’s. Also, should I do the instrumental versions? Thank you in advance!

I don’t think it has to be a different song, but it would be nice if there was some sort of musical cue that you are coming. As far as instrumental or not, it might be easier to find a good place to transition without lyrics.

It doesn’t have to be different, but I agree that it would be nice for you to have your own song. It doesn’t matter the size of your wedding party. I only had 2 bm’s/gm’s and still had my own song. We had a person in charge of the music who would fade the songs out and back in as necessary.
You can choose any songs you want. Just remember that your entrance is a very special moment. You are the bride, so it will be very special and emotional for your groom and all of the guests at the wedding (regardless of how many).
As far as instrumental versions or not, that is personal choice. I chose instrumental songs for our wedding ceremony by Vitamin String Quartet. You can do whatever you want though.
I’m not a fan of Christina perri, but again it is a personal choice. Also, maybe check with the groom and be sure he agrees with the songs. You wouldn’t want to walk down the isle to him to a song that he doesn’t like, or if he can’t stand Twilight or whatever. Good luck!

Thanks Bees! I will be having two different songs and probably instumental. My fi likes both those songs and even though its from the Twilight soundtrack they are beautiful songs and don’t really remind us of the movie. 🙂
