Beautiful venue! The photographer I was going to suggest is $3,499, I believe :(
But there is some great ones under $3k, I'm sure some others will chime in soon.
We used Tim Jarosz at Gerber and Scarpelli and we LOVED him! He was a wonderful person and a delight to work with and he is ridiculously talented! We cannot stop looking at our pictures. We looked at several studios and Gerber and Scarpelli had the most honest, straightforward business practices (no funny business with buying the pictures and they released them all to us digitally). They were also super quick in getting them back to us. We are amazed at our pictures and I would recommend Tim and Gerber and Scarpelli with NO hesitation! Good luck to you!!
We are using Shane Welch of Shane Welch Photography. His packages are quite reasonable and would likely be within your budget. http://www.shanewelchweddings.com/index2.php
He really has an eye for good shots and knows the city quite well (which was a huge selling point for us).
Good luck with the planning!
we found a photographer who is doing our e pics and our full wedding day adn rehersal dinner for $500. if you need his info pm me. he is amazing!! i know it sound too good to be true but i he does this as a hobby and is amazing and what he does.
We're using Laura Meyer Photography for our wedding next August. I'm fairly certain that Laura has a package right around your price range. Here's a link to her website:

We absolutely loved her when we met for our consultation. I think it's advantageous to work with a smaller business, because you know exactly who will be shooting your big day. I stood up in a wedding last June, and went to another this July, where the couples opted to go with George Street - the results were absolutely awful. Neither bride wanted to show anyone the photos and both photographers were surly and a nightmare to deal with.
Pictures (along with a wonderful husband!) will be all you have left after the day is over. Make sure whoever you hire has a style that resonates with you. I can relate to being on a budget, but if you're going to splurge anywhere, I think photos are a good place to do it. Good luck!
Love, Love, love my photographer. I was in the same boat as you and was able to stay under $3000.
We are using Kina Wicks: www.kinawicks.com
Her work is not just photography, it is art. It's simply stunning. We're so excited!

I'm getting married next July at Cafe Brauer in Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a photographer. Our budget is really tight (we're paying for everything ourselves) and I had no idea photgraphers were so expensive! Does anyone have any recommendations? We really don't want to/can't spend more than 3k on a photographer and having beautiful photos is extremely important to me (but isn't it for every bride?). Help me Bees!
