I feel like you answered your own question.  If you didn’t love her artistic eye then you have the potential to not be happy with your wedding pictures so I would definitely go with the first one if you can afford it (I assume you can since you’re considering her).

wow. where are you located? the prices seem so cheap!

here in seattle, i am paying 2600 for only 6 hours!

it would be almost 9k for unlimited coverage (including rehearssal dinner)!

@SthrnBelle: Have you asked if you can drop the print credit and drop the price by that amount? I always asked if I could customize a package if it had something I didn’t need/want for right now.

@SthrnBelle: I was one of those customers with every photographer I contacted.  I thought it felt weird at first and then when I started to see some of the deals that I could get, I loved it!  The worst thing that they can do is say no.

If you have rights to print, go to adorama.com or mpix.com and print there. THeir prints are pro-level, but without the profit sharing for your photog (which I feel bad saying, because I know they deserve to be paid more, since photogs take-home is a small percentage of what they charge).

I think you should go with the one who has the artistic eye you love more. WHere I live, they are both huge steals. ๐Ÿ™‚

We had our wedding yesterday, so working with our photographer is fresh in my mind.  I absolutely suggest that you find several photographers whose style you love, and then pick the one who you get along with the best.  Our photographer was not the cheapest or the most expensive, be we clicked with her perfectly and had soooooo much fun and it showed in the pictures. We were so relaxed, and that was because we really enjoyed spending time with her. It really does make all the difference in the world.
