I need to make a final decision on a dress and get it ordered by next Tuesday if I am going to get one in time for my April 26 wedding. I would be very appreciative of some unbiased feedback from you all!
The Maggie Sottero Reba Dress is very appropriate for the venue and the event. It’s age appropriate (I’m 36) and it is along the lines of what i had in mind originally. The belt is crooked in this picture so keep that in mind (IF i even wear the belt) and this one is not my size & more in need of tailoring than the Enzoani.
The Enzoani was a surprise. I think it’s still considered an A-line but it suggests a trumpet and I never thought in a million years that I’d have the bod for that, or anything fitted through the waist & hips. The neckline is better for me than the Maggie Sottero. And I think it is also age appropriate.
They are both equally light and comfortable. The Enzoani’s embroidery scratches my forearms a bit but that is a price I am willing to pay.
Thank you for your time and opinion!

@yehyehgirl: you should add a poll 🙂 they both look great on you, and normally I would pick the blingy, fit and flare style however I LOVE the first dress (the Maggie) on you! Very classic and beautiful. I think it would look even better with a blingy belt to add some “pizazz”!

@yehyehgirl: I like the second dress much more, but I would prefer it with a thicker belt. I’m not a huge fan of blingy belts, so I would do either a solid color belt, or a floral belt of some sort.
I feel like the first dress is just really plain and I’m not a huge fan of the material.

@yehyehgirl: the 2nd dress just has that wow factor !! If you choose it, I cant wait to see it after its fitted.

First one by a landslide!! You look slender and classy and elegant in the first.

I vote that you try on Dabra!
I think it’s the best of both worlds!

Both of these dresses are beautiful, but they are very different. You really need to consider how you envision yourself looking and feeling on your wedding day.
If I told you right now that one of these dresses has been discontinued — and you can no longer consider it — which dress do you hope it is NOT?

I can’t get past the black belt…. but if you had a nice blingy belt I think I would choose A… Perhaps one that has a larger center focus ….

They both look great on you but the first one draws me in. you look fabulous in it.

Both look great on you! But I think the Maggie looks absolutely stunning on you!

I think the first one makes you look curvier (in a good way!) so my vote went for that.

Thank you for your votes & remarks. This is a difficult decision!
The Maggie dress does read as rather plain in a headless photo, but it has something kinda Hollywood about it in person. Hair & makeup are important with this dress to define a look & add drama or a wow factor. I would definitely add some bling with either a belt or applique where the fabric gathers at the hip. And a birdcage veil or a jazzy hair piece with my hair worn down. I just don’t like the neckline of this dress on me and I don’t think much can be done with alterations.
The Enzoani dress is not at all what I was looking for & I’m surprised the salon owner even pulled it because it was my second visit & I had eliminated 2 of the 3 dresses I came back to try on again with a friend. (meaning I was on the verge ordering the Maggie Reba). Now the more I look at the dress the more I like it. I almost wish she never showed it to me! I am not quite so sure how I would style this dress though like I am with the Maggie.
My bridesmaid liked both but said she would probably go with the Maggie if it were her wedding because it truly does fit the event & vibe so well. My mom didn’t like the Enzoani at all, not sure why. I wish I knew which one my husband to be would prefer!

@yehyehgirl: I think the Maggie is extremely lovely on you. It drapes so beautifully, and it just flatters you somehow. The Enzoani seems kind of stiff, and very typical of current wedding dress styles. The Maggie seems like a Hollywood bombshell kind of dress, very classic.
Funny, I just looked at the post before mine and you had already mentioned Hollywood style when referring to the Maggie!
I think you should go with the first one, and get a blush or lavender or pale blue sash with some silver beading or fabric flowers, rather than the black belt. The black is just too much and sort of cuts you in half. I think a lighter-colored sash would emphasize the lovely flow that dress has.

I voted for the Farley, but I would also suggest perhaps trying on some more dresses. Just because you commented that you didn’t think the silhouette of the Farley would suit you…you might continue to surprise yourself.
I like the silhouette of the Maggie, but it’s otherwise quite a plain gown.
And goodness…at 36, you should not be worrying about finding an ‘age appropriate’ gown, just one that speaks to your personal style more than anything!

I love the first dress on you, it looks amazing on! You look so elegant.
