Our wedding is December 29, and up until about last week I thought our theme/wedding colors would be whites and creams with accents of muted pink/green/blues. My bridesmaids dresses are these: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/anybody-s-guest-dress
They already have the dresses and they look great.
However, in the past week my fiance and I have gotten super excited about having more Christmas-y wedding. I definitely am not a fan of the deep reds & greens and want the Christmas theme to be more of an “accent”. For example, tablecloths will still be ivory and flowers will be mostly white, but instead with accents of holly and mint greens & reds. However, I’m not sure what to do with the bridesmaids dresses. How do I make this pink dress a little bit more Christmas-y? I was thinking about getting them ivory shawls for them to wear. Am I over-thinking this? Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

Oooh! I will have to post in the morning, I have some pics/links that may help you. My man and I strongly considered getting hitched in December and going Christmasy with our decorations.

I dont decorate my house for christmas in red/green so maybe I’m the only one who thinks Christmas can be injected in any colour…. But I think using a pink/green scheme would still be Christmassy if you did more of aVictorian style? Thinking pinks, sage, brown, ivory and more like sugared fruit colours. Even mixed with some evergreens, pine cones etc.

We had a Christmas wedding, but it was full out, red and gold with Christmas trees and wreaths kind of wedding. I LOVE Christmas! I think with those dresses maybe a green shawl to go with it would be nice. Christmas baubles are a nice way to add some “Christmas-y” stuff but depending on the color, don’t have to be super out there.
These were our centerpieces, but I think they might be too overtly Christmas for you.
Or something like this but with different colored ornaments
Or like this:
Oh, or some pink and green Christmas:
By the way have I said I LOVE Christmas?

My wedding was cranberry and mauve pink, in late November.

that’s my parents’ anniversary 🙂 28 years ago, their colors were mauve and burgundy. the men wore grey tuxes. oh, the 80’s.
i love the idea of an all white/ivory wedding with pops of color. and i agree with PP’s, you can do christmas without it screaming christmas.
have you seen the glitter ornaments that are made with clear glass ornaments? here’s a link: http://thegreenbeanscrafterole.blogspot.com/2010/12/all-that-glittersminus-mess.html they’re a piece of cake. i made some last year to hang around my apartment (we didn’t have a tree), and it was a cheap project, especially since clear glass ornaments go on sale all summer long. anyway. you could choose a few accent colors and go buy glitter in those colors and then make some ornaments to use?
